wow haven't heard this song in a minute
anyway, after seeing the recent episode 10, i too was very sad when Lin's bending was taken from her, and like everyone else i REALLY wish she gets it back soon. now about this drawing, while most people are sad that she lost her only connection to her mother, i like to think of this a chance for Lin to be her own person. i like to play the idea of Lin always being in Toph's shadow, and now that she lost her bending, she could rise again and be her own self without her mother shadow trapping her, and when i heard this part from the song, it just clicked and this happen! hope you guys like it! maybe i might color it

This is awesome, and I felt bad that Lin lost her bending, she felt like she lost her identity as a police chief and as Toph's daughter because Toph was a great Earth bender and Lin felt like she had disappointed her mother big time when her earthbending was taken away.
You can tell Lin takes pride in her mother's reputation and wanted to keep it going regardless that she is not Toph Bei Fong herself. I don;t think she minds being in her mom's shadow because while she is her kid Lin basically does her own thing.

HA, you and I really DO have a lot of similar ideas of Lin and Toph's relationship. I, too, have not once gotten a single hint from Lin or Legend of Korra and she and her mom had a fuzzy, warm, cutesy relationship. I'd expect that Toph would have her moments of motherliness over time, but I really think she'd be a hardass and tough on her kid -- and Lin would forever feel lost in her mom's shadow. I really think they must have had a complicated relationship.

in my honest opinion i think Amon is just sealing the light chakra. remember from ATLA, the guru said that the light chakra is blocked by illusion, so my guess is that he's just using a very advanced form of chi-blocking, but who knows :/

I agree too. My prediction that Amon's ability to take bending away was reversable right after he took Lin's bending. Fans would be in an uproar if a main character permanent lost their bending - even if it was in such a heroic manner.

Wow. Your thoughts on this are really deep. I kinda noticed that too; like, even though Lin's freaking AWESOME and stuff, her mom was awesome while being blind. Expectations must've been high for Lin, even as a kid. So yeah, I agree with your Artist's Comment. ^^
