I've... been thinking a lot, lately. Last night it all surmounted to this. I don't know anything about this boy yet, but I'm going to write a story about him, too. I think he and I have quite a few things in common.
As for the art... I'm not satisfied with the crappy quality of the background, but I just needed to get it all out. I wasn't worrying about precision at that point. I like the end result, though.

Well, the point of his legs being blurred is that you're supposed to focus on his face and umbrella...

okey I understand. I just thought that blured objects are further than main object. Boy is main object, also he is nearest so he should be all vivid. Of course all his body parts are in the same level as he. I mean his legs can't be further than himself

I see what you mean, but I wasn't going by depth in this case. Maybe that was erroneous of me, but eh, I like the picture better when only his upper body is in focus.

I think the "crappy quality of the background" looks great! It really sets a gloomy mood, and it definitely gives off a feeling of rainy weather. I also like how the background is blurred out so you focus on the boy, because then things don't feel cluttered but just right. I also like the woman in the front! Just a lot of dimension here, it's great. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the boy.
