Description Spring is for daffodils, new beginnings, the cycle of the year starting all over -- and of course, spring is for the annual batch of new spring chickens, fresh, fluffy, and cute.

I could tell, when I saw the thumbnail in my devwatch list, that this was your style! It's mostly because of the soft texture and the vivid colors.

This is my favorite, so far, of your Labyrinth seasons paintings. I especially love the Wiseman's amazed/shocked/enthralled expression. It's really endearing.

Awwww. But, spring chickens are -magic-! Adult chickens are stupid and smelly and noisy, but... fluffy yellow magic!

I don't do photomanipulation, but I won't deny using an armful of reference pictures.

It's actually very simple. I paint as if I was using oils or another similar wet stuff -- first I slap on dabs of paint and then I smear 'em around so that they blend to produce shading. It's a lot simpler than it looks -- except that I still haven't found a way to do grass or leaves that satisfies me. The shading is all right but you can't tell what kind of leaves they are

... Oh, and don't ever let me near inking if you value your eyesight. I'm prone to stab my eye out with the pen nib and bleed all over the paper.
