A new visual reference for Andalusst city and the lands surrounding it.

Andalusst is a fairly flat, open locale surrounded by mountain ranges. The climate is quite stable and the soil is fertile, making it an ideal home for a large variety of Pokemon. While rock formations above ground are not so common as trees and plants, the terrain is extremely rich in minerals, with expansive stone and natural basalt caves sprawling well below the grassy plains, creating various shelves and plateaus that give the land the appearance of having been built on steps.

Andalusst has one notable lake and river system on the surface, but several much larger underwater lakes within the underground caves. Due to the tranquility of these caves and lack of sedimentation, the water naturally remains impeccably clean, providing sweet and healthy water that Andalusst natives are quite proud of. Many water-type Pokemon volunteer to keep the underwater lakes free of debris, though it’s rarely polluted by natural means.

The single central ‘beacon’ - mysterious, immaterial lights which seem to repel the fog - can be found at the top of a large stone tower around which the city itself was built over time. Travelers lost in the space-bending fog have reported being attracted to Andalusst’s beacon even though they began their journey in lands far away, indicating that this particular beacon has some sort of priority over others. For this reason, the population in Andalusst has thrived and the culture has become particularly diverse and advanced.

The city, also known as ‘Dreamer’s Eye’ was once ruled under a monarchy, though over time the political system changed to better support a democratic rule. Remnants of the old traditions still exist and are held fondly by traditionalists, such as the presence of a Royal Guard and a thriving nobility.

Wine, Berries and stone are Andalusst’s main exports, though outgoing trade is limited due to a lack of predictable dungeon paths. Andalusst has two well known dungeons in the north and south that lead to other cities, though both are deemed unsafe beyond the 2nd floor. That said, thanks to recent events, rumors of a third dungeon beneath the city have recently began to surface…
