my submission for the contest.the theme was to personify a color, so I went for one of my favorites (since I figured not many would do orange, anyway). plus it seems like she's an underappreciated color nowadays, so I'm making a tribute to her now. vive l'orange!
surprisingly, the hardest part of this picture wasn't her dress--it was the background. as you might notice, I never get around to going as far as bgs, but now...yeah, since it's contest-material I decided I should go full-out. I had to fill that white space SOMEHOW, and voila-- my sad excuse for a catchy backdrop. xD way to go me...
and, yes, she is taking care of a baby phoenix which lives with her. judging by the colors, I thought that would be appropriate.
and can I you tell I love gerbera daisies? yeah...I love gerbera daisies.

the anatomy is off...o.o but i think the bg is acty really great!! haha.. well.. at least ur marker art dun look like marker art... and more like digi... which is good right.. ahah.. unlike mine... splotches everywhere... great coloring! how many shades of orange markers do u HAVE?
