This drawing was quite a challenge. Partly because of the format - it's the biggest I've ever drawn before - and partly because I gave myself a deadline of only a week as I didn't want to go back to spending months on a piece, I ltend to lose interest in it after a while when I do that - but mainly because I haven't actually drawn or painted at all in over a year. This is also the first big cat I've tried my hands on, AND my third pastel ever - my first with chalk pastels! All in all, I'm very happy about the outcome.
It's no masterpiece but it's probably the best drawing I've ever done. I'll most likely update this deviation once I get a better photo of it.(HEY! Can you find my signature? It's 'hidden' somewhere in the painting)

The softness of the pastel really makes for a soft piece. I could touch that fur and it would feel like down. The eyes are particularly well done.

This is absolutely stunning! The fact that you drew this in a week... Wow. I'm so impressed. This has got to be the best drawing I have ever seen. Amazing! Love how the siggie is etched into the rock so even that looks like it's part of the 'photo'.
