Okay, seriously, I find this funny. Who'd a thunk this would be my most favorited deviation...
.......Looking back on it, I realize just how much I failed at acheiving what I was aiming for in this picture ;_;
anyway, as of today, this has 36 favorites...
I submitted this in march, and it still gets more favorites fairly often... 0.o;;
If it reaches 50, my life will be happy XD

prismacolor pencils are a special type of colored pencil that are especially good for layering, and allow you to put down smooth, vibrant colors ^^ I believe they come in 137 different colors ^^

My only critique is that youshould have much more background knowledge before drawing a geisha apprentice like that... Get the knowledge, you will understand what I mean

yes, I don't really know how to draw kimonos that well...I studied a little about geishas, although...she's not really a geisha

They're not really words of wisdom, though, but I read this book about a geishas life and she said that people from the west often thinks that geishas are like prostitudes, wich is a huuuuge mistake... A geisha can loose her future if even a rumour is spread that she is seeing someone who is not her "lover in law"...

I think this came out really well. The fabric has a beautiful drape to it, and the crimson stands out really well against the black and white everything else.
