This is a tree in the street leading up to Rabat. It's naturally shaped like Jesus Crucified and people have been stopping there to pray and place flowers there as a sign of adoration. This tree was not carved.
Because of recent bad weather, harsh winds have broken parts of this tree... and ironically, it was only then that I found out about this beautiful tree. People refused to let the tree die and have done everything to restore it. Other wooden branches now support the tree so as not to fall over.
I think this is a remarkable resemblance to the image of Jesus Crucified. And this tree should be taken care of for as long as possible

Hauntingly beautiful tree, it does looks like the shape of Jesus' crucifixion..

Actually, it had just rained... the clouds above us were dark gray and it was windy as hell... but for some reason it looked like great weather in the picture

I find it stupid that so much fuss was made when this particular tree toppled over, since the same fuss is never made for every tree. I think it should be considered just as special as any other tree. If we truly believe that nature is a gift from God, then all trees, plants etc are just as special

yeah I should edit my last sentence... ALL trees should be taken care of for as long as possible. But I liked this tree since it actually does look like Christ... Even though the same measures should be taken if other trees topple over.
Also... the media probably had a slow news day.... therefore they added the tree story

Yep, very probable about the slow news day.I studied communications so I should be defending the media, but I HATE this whole thing about news, since it is such a subjective thing. bleh

I see this tree twice everyday! It's actually supported by a wooden plank to stop it from bending over. Lovely shot!
