Description This was taken on the Sliema sea front going to Gzira. There is a yacht that has sunk for some reason, and the owner hasn't bothered to rescue it yet. People were shocked at first, but when they realised that it was one of those tourist attraction cruise yachts, they totally neglected the fact that is was drowning.... and they couldn't care any less.

I managed to capture 3 old men rowing past it, also totally ignoring the drowning yacht.... And I thought it made an interesting picture.

Hope you like it

no... ironically, they pulled it out about a day or two after I took this shot. Pity really, since it was a rather interesting sight. It was there for about a month though.

yes i d say, istead of sinking ships for he sake of divers only.....why dont they do sink ships in shallow waters where one can admirte even form the reef, sailing by, swimming to and why not diving too!

actually they do sink ships for that reason. (coincidentally it was on the news yesterday)

They sunk another ship cause
1) Provides marine life protection from anchors and nets.
2) Provides habitats
3) Great attraction for divers.

Though it's not in shallow water. Pity

Yes true. But hey at least it's one step closer to having boats in shallow water.

(mind you, this boat wasn't in shallow water, it was at least 10meters deep, but it hadn't actually sunk... it was slowly sinking. )

I really like this, especially the masts sticking up and the ropes around them. Kind of like telephone poles, I mean.

OMG That is hilarious! I was looking at this picture saying, "Wait. What's drowning?" and then I saw the mast sticking up out of the water and started cracking up.

Thank you^^ The only chance I had to take a pic was on the way home... and I decided to stop there by bus and walk the rest of the way since I don't live too far away. I tried taking several pics, but there is too much clutter behind it to actually make it a good pic.

Glad you liked this one though^^

hehe brilliant. Love how it looks like its just part of the background, and the focus is on the men in the rowing boat. when I read the title, I was trying to figure out what made u conclude that the rowing boat was sinking.
especially love the reflection of the sun in the waves made by the rowing boat

yeah I know.... that's what I was aiming for... the ship is so neglected that it's not even the focus of the picture^^ .....

That was my whole intention .....
