PERSONALITY

Enduring his over-protective mother’s treatment and lack of a father figure since he was young, Abel grew to be a secluded, obedient child. He comes across as a shy and awkward person, but once you get to know him better, he can talk and smiles more often(still awkward tho), showing his warm side towards that person.....though it will take quite some (or a long) time. Also an over-thinker especially when it comes to socializing. He doesn't like to talk about his past or personal life, made him quite a private person. He is also prone to guilty, and often afraid if he managed to hurt other people.

Being quite observant about things, Abel was quick enough to know whether anything is out of place, as he managed to find the truth about his family. Even though Abel is actually capable of being logical, he's also sympathetic and cares about other people. Because of this, he often got trapped in a situation whereas his emotion clashed with his logic. Added with his secluded life and his indecisiveness, he's not very good with conflict, and has a tendency to run from it - Often doesn't say what he really thinks when clashing with other people as he was avoiding trouble.

He began to grew confused with the war as he noticed so many contradictions between the things he was taught at his hometown and what he actually saw after he arrived at Amedra. Eventually, it gave him a new perspective regarding the war, yet he's becoming more and more passive about it as time goes by, given the fact that he couldn't do anything except only watch as the conflict between two countries were getting even worse from time to time.

Working as a Research Assistant, he's quite diligent with his work, supported by his thirst for knowledge especially in the area of magic and summons. Yet, his lack of interaction with many people in his young age still made him felt really anxious whenever he’s in the middle of crowds.

HISTORY
Born into a middle-class noble family in Koben, Ethelbert lived a peaceful and fulfilling life, until his father was found murdered in his own room when he was only 5. No one knew of the possible culprit. Years passed, and his mother still was unable to overcome her sadness and grief as she was determined to keep her only child from any harm - to the extent of locking him in a chamber. This kind of life was stressful for Ethelbert, more so when his beloved uncle Varius passed away when he was only 14. After his second loss of family member, he began to investigate his own family to figure out the truth as his mother wouldn’t tell him anything, while enduring her over-protective treatment, which had worsened year after year.

2 years later, he was terrified as he finally found out the truth - that his late father was actually a traitor , as he was aiding the enemy with internal information.  An unforgivable act of betrayal to the empire. In addition to that, his mother who he thought was oblivious to his father’s scheme was the one who killed his uncle. Ethelbert was hit by a swirl of emotions. Fear. Anger. Disgust. he was utterly confused. In the end, the terrified child escaped from the manor, keeping the truth to himself and took a fairly large amount of his family treasures to support him on his run.

Ethelbert was hiding in linhythe for a while, and it was quite difficult for him. As the town was full of crime and poverty, the naive, once secluded boy starting to doubt things towards his own country...until he heard that his whole family was captured as their betrayal act was finally discovered by the empire. The young man once again succumbed to fear. why now? was all he could think of. Nevertheless, as he was cornered in Linhythe, he had nowhere else to go except for sailing across the sea to Amedra, his enemy territory, leaving his whole family behind.

Changing his name to Abel to hide his identity, arriving at Amedra was perhaps the most challenging time for him as he found it difficult to adapt to the new environment and struggled for a fairly long time. It was also when the young man began to develop his magic and he's able to summon his familiar. Unfortunately, because he didn't really get any proper training for his magic, it would often go out of control. that's when he met a man named Daryl Folkvardr, who offered to help the poor young man as he noticed the circumstances by providing a job and a place to stay. In return, Abel will help him with his research - about possible new dimensions and convenient way to catch familiars for conjurers - while also benefiting the young man to control his summons along the way by better understanding it.

DETAILED VERSION OF HIS HISTORY - I'M SORRY BECAUSE IT'S TOO LONG (and boring)

Life became more steady for Abel after his meeting with Daryl as he lived his life working in the bar while at times, helping with the research. In contrast with that, the conflict between the two countries were getting even worse, leading to the recent attack on Amedra and the evacuation from Valsk and Belport. Panic, disorder, chaos. Abel began to doubt the war further as he continuously witness the raging conflicts from his /enemy’s/ point of view, Miras Kingdom, which contradicts from what he was taught in his beloved hometown…

One particular person popped back on his mind. The question he had long forgotten....about the reason behind his late father’s traitorous act. Who is behind all of it? Which side is to blame..? what exactly happened between his mother and uncle? those were the questions that constantly goes through his mind and hoped to find answers for as he continued with life...

RELATIONSHIPS

Father, Jean Reginmund (deceased) - Died when Abel was 5. Was actually a traitor.

Mother, Georgia Rochess (family name), Reginmund (after married) – captured by the empire’s army, and nobody has ever heard of her again.

Uncle , Varius Rochess (deceased) - One of the high ranking officer from Koben and also Georgia’s big brother.

Daryl Folkvardr - Owner of a Bar at Amedra/ Former Reseacher. Born in Amedra and moved to Nisalvini after he married, helping his Late wife's research. After his wife passed away, the research stopped. he moved back to his hometown with his daugther, and re-opened his Bar while still grieving with his loss of family member. It was after he met Abel that he decided to continue the research once again, resolved to secure her legacy.

Aileen Folkvardr - Daryl’s only daughter, after her mother passed away, she had a strained relationship with his father. Her relationship with abel is.......really bad.
