Ever since he was a kid, Quentin never liked relying on other people for help. He would do things on his own and in turn, expect other people to pick up their own slack without the need of a helping hand to guide them. His father was an ambitious man, whose thirst for travel and adventure weighed more to him than being with his family, while his mother was a caring housewife who'd patiently wait home for her husband to arrive safely each time.

As a kid, Quentin was spoiled by his mother dearly. She would often include him as a character in her books, stories about a different world where characters lived a different life and told him tales about their adventures together. Elena loved her son so much she poured all her attention to him where his father cannot.

His father was always away from home with businesses and long overseas trips that it was already considered a miracle if Thomas visited once a month. Whenever he was at home, he didn't have much time to spend with his family as he was a business centric man, aiming for a better income than what was already considered enough. Quentin seldom saw his old man, he yearned for his time as a lad but as years pass by, he learned not to expect much from him and eventually treated him like he was nothing more but a mere stranger. He learned to cope without his presence, but the same couldn't be said about his mother. She would often cry at night, heart filled with grief over her husbands absence during the cold nights.

The trading business grew bigger over time, but as the money poured in, Elena's health dwindled down and a terrible tragedy had befallen the household. At age 17, his mother passed away due to a heart failure and Quentin took the loss bitterly more than anyone else. His father was now able to hire employees at his command so he didn't need to travel as much as before, managing the house and business in the center of Koben. The man tried to heal the severed ties between him and his son, but Quentin's heart had already become cold and resentful. Their conversations turn to nothing more but arguments, often ending up with Thomas raising his voice and ordering his son to straighten his life.

The next year, he started to rebel against his father and ran away from home thinking he could easily live on his own means. He lived off in the dangerous streets of Linhythe for a long period of time until he was 21, when he reluctantly came back to his father to beg for help with owing a few thugs a large sum of gold. His father agreed to pay his acquired debt, but with the promise of him obeying his orders and paying him the money back three folds.

After three years of training, he started working as a law enforcer at age 23, with the recommendation of his father who had a friend in the law enforcement division in Koben. He despises his job and doesn't take it seriously, but he revels in the power and position--if not for the fact that he can legally beat up the same kind of thugs who made his life hell on the streets when he ran away, he'd have left the division already. His perspective is crooked, often putting the law in his hands, and has no problem with accepting bribes or stealing money from the poor.

At the moment, he is a member of a five-man guild who operates in Koben, whose real purpose is selling illegal goods and offering other 'dark' services. His position in the law enforcement division helps the members in tipping when raids or investigations come. It serves as a side job, a good break from his boring law abiding job.
