From a young age Valentin's personality was forged to fit a privileged boy with deep roots to his family and his country. He is very proud of his origins but was never taught to value the people below him and thus acts very prejudiced. Only with the years passing he learned to hide (never discarded) his blatant racism against elves which his family preached. Having grown up secluded from most people his age Valentin believed that name-dropping would grant him true friends in the few social events he attended.
Only after leaving his home he started over thinking some of his morals as he realized with great dread that he was no different than the soldiers next to him. His family name didn't grant him a second life and he was as mortal as everyone.
The man knows etiquette and always cares about a polite, aloof demeanour while working. As a Royal guard he is a loyal and ambitious companion who trusts the current leader of The Miras Kingdom completely. He will fulfil any given mission without questioning - his trust in the regime so unshakeable that it can almost be described as naivety.

The soldier has a very rational mind. He is a fair but cold companion who will never take pity for the suffering if it isn't required in a mission. With his egoistic thinking he doesn't see a reason for voluntarily taking the pain of someone onto himself without a payment in exchange.
Valentin lives by rules and principles, needing those to control his daily life. Being very traditional and preferring old-fashioned ways, he often has to fight to not deplore modern manners such as public showing of affection or loud, inappropriate speaking.
He believes that a person's room resembles their inner soul and thus always keeps everything neat and well-organized. Clutter disturbs his concentration heavily.
While serving the army the royal guard learned to treasure good friendships which were built on the same interests or thoughts. He especially respects courage as long as it isn't selfless valour and might even overcome his racist thoughts when given the right circumstances.
When feeling socially cornered the man will lose all his wit and charm and return to the behaviour he had adapted best in his youth: a cold and contemptuous manners.

Valentin was born as the first heir to the lineage of a noble healer family on a snowy day in Valsk in the year 8263. With his father traditionally still serving in the army, the young boy was raised by his mother and his grandfather, who acted as the father-figure.
He was a loud, sneaky child and soon got the nickname Valik, making it way easier to shout out at him when the boy managed to get in trouble once again. It took his family years to get manners and grace into the boys head but with success.
Valentin's future was never open for debate. As the family tradition demanded, the boy was expected to become a loyal soldier of the Miras Kingdom. He himself had no problems with that plan. Being a firm believer in everything his family taught him, he saw it as an honour to follow the footsteps of the men before him. His training to become a healer started soon after his fifth birthday and the family was relieved as he showed to have a talent for those arts. With his grandfather as the main tutor the young adult also quickly learned what kind of people/ races to respect but also who to despise.
With the age of eighteen Valentin left his home to join the army where his father waited for him. The short reunion was more emotional than the young men would have ever expected as his father embraced him and promised that he would take good care of the family in exchange for his son aiming to be one of the best soldiers of the army.
With more determination than ever the young men started serving the Miras Armada as an Acolyte. Through frequent exchange of letters with his grandfather and both siblings, whom had grown very close to him, the man never felt homesick if not for the snowy mountains.
At the age of twenty-one, he was trusted to be part of a small mission which failed greatly due to Valentin’s disrespect for his comrades of other races and origins. It resulted in heavy injuries for all parts and the recommendation of Valentin taking a temporary leave. Unable to admit his faults the boy followed the advice without informing his family about the matter. For half a year he lived on his savings in Amedra where he failed to start a successful relationship with a woman by getting his marriage proposal rejected. To his horror said women later on married someone from a lower social standing. Valentin finally had to admit his wrongs about people. Social prestige wasn’t everything.
As the ship of his former captain once again came into the port, the now 22-years-old was the first person on the planks and apologized honestly for his mistakes to the captain and all involved people. With the newfound mindset that he couldn't meet his fellow comrades with prejudice anymore he was accepted back on board. He now tried to see the soldier first in any person before he would judge them for their origins, at least at work that is.
On Arrival in 8291 Valentin was part of the legion that defended Amedra and Belport from the sudden invasion of Koben. It was clear that a war had started.
As a consequence of the storming of the north Valentins family had to flee from Valsk after they had suffered some serious losses. However, it was never of question if the boy would leave the army to support his family. Both sides were clear on it. As soon as it was possible a short letter of his father reached him with the information that most members of the family were save. Furthermore, he asked to renew the promise with his son from the very first day. He would take care of the family while Valentin would sooner or later take his revenge for the lost ones together with the Miras Military.
Shortly after the attack the man finally mastered the arts of the acolyte tier and became an exorcist in order to gain more offensive power. It calmed his mind to learn a new way of defending his country in an offensive style even though he still has a lot to learn. For a long time he was always seen with bruises and burns on his hands from handling the magic wrongly before he suddenly started wearing long leather gloves one day.
Just recently Valentins unfaltering loyalty has been rewarded as he was offered a position to become a Royal Guard. The man accepted. For him, it was a chance to support the kingdom even better and to find potential help to master his new abilities.

Year of Souls:At the end of the Year of Souls, Valik took part in taking the North back. After the victory, he met up with his siblings to discuss the future of their family. His youngest brother decided to leave the army in order to reconstruct the family property in Valsk. Just as they were to part again, news arrived that their grandfather (and former family head) had peacefully passed away upon hearing about the victory. As it would have been his grandfather’s wish to be buried on the land he was raised on, Valik extended his stay in Valsk for a short amount of time to honour the man who had raised him and bit his last farewell on his grave. He then returned to Miras, silently renewing the vow to continue serving the Kingdom as his family’s tradition expects it.

Year of Beginnings: With unfaltering trust in the kingdom Valik concentrates on his duties as a royal guard again. Though new problems keep coming up, as his mother demands for him to finally find a suitable wife in order to protect their lineage.

Family:

Valsk Nobility who pride themselves with an excellent lineage of strong healers. They have an indestructible trust in the Miras Kingdom to the point that they would die for the cause.
After a long family tradition all heirs are expected to join the army when they are of age. It is set, that the strongest family member always has to serve the Kingdom. Only when a worthy heir is ready to overtake this duty, the father is allowed to return home and start acting as family head. Thus the grandfather and respective mother are responsible for the individual education of the children.

- Uses his hands/ arms for magic. His few friends still say that he hurts himself by overdoing magic until the current day
- His earring is a family charm that is said to enhance magical abilities. He crafted it himself with the age of 18 before he left his family
- He doesn't have dreams but goals in life (of which most were passed down from his family)
- Might end up cleaning his friends rooms if he can't endure it any longer (slight OCD syndromes)
- He can't stand younger soldiers being better than himself at any task
- Applies the red under his eye everyday as a kind of ritual
- The fox mask (Shoulderarmour) is a family symbol which reappears on the family crest (the armour is also the reason for him wearing his cloak a bit differently)
