Kind and empathetic, Donovan is a man who genuinely lends a helping hand even to those who he just met. He believes in fairness and equality, and gives second chances. He was raised as a gentleman and so keeps his manners intact, even when faced with different types of people in the society. He sincerely believes women shouldn't fight and is to be kept safe at home with the children but isn't one to enforce such ideals on people. He is amicable and will try to befriend even the most rough n shabby looking warrior in the pub or the filthy beggar in the streets.

Although brave when it comes to facing danger (often all too blindly) and would valiantly risk his life for his loved ones, he has had difficulty in refusing or saying 'no' to requests or orders, even when the job is not his own to complete. His lack of willpower leads to a few abusing his kindness and he tends to passively let them do so even when he knows they're crossing the line.

As an idealist, he believes in perfection, that things can get better. This outlook has been tested when the war had gone into full swing, but nevertheless his optimistic nature continues to carry on steadfastly. Lately, with his change in city, he hopes he could be more independent and grow a thicker hide to be able to help himself and the people he intends to serve better.

History:

Donovan is the only son of a wealthy half-dark elf merchant from Linythe and the daughter of a tradesman in Koben, whose union was agreed upon to strengthen the social status and class of both families, which proved beneficial in the long run. It was rather a rough start for both of them as they were thrown into an arranged marriage at an early age but love had bloomed eventually for both of them and they had given the same kind of affection to their son, who they both cherished deeply. Despite Illdan's busy schedule, and Amelie's acolyte duties, both parents have successfully instilled their values upon Donovan, who grew up to be a fine young gentleman free from vice but naive to the suffering of the world.

Throughout his life, Don had dreamt of becoming a knight, an honorable name in the army next to his Uncle, Logan Doherty, who he reveres so much. He was a living example of the brave knights he read in his books and therefore, he desired to be close to his likeness someday. He had taken up swordsmanship through a private tutor, as well as sparred with his uncle a few times during his short visits in Koben.

When the war broke in, Donovan volunteered to help in defend Linhythe against Miras' unexpected attack. It was his first time stepping into battle and more than just the wounds he acquired during it, was a new perspective on the war. His eyes were opened up to the brutality of both sides, the Empire and Kingdom forces with their warriors who wielded both magic and swords and raised their shields against each other. It wasn't exactly the dream he expected it to be like how it was in his story books, but rather a tragedy that he wasn't sure he wanted to pursue in the long run.

Dropping his sword at the end of battle, thankfully still alive, albeit blood drenched, he wavered his way to the medic tents to where his mother treated him. There, he came to the conclusion that the heroes in war we're not only those who took lives but those who preserved them as well.

After taking great consideration and with the recommendation of his mother, he decided to take up healing as a new path, taking up apprenticeship under the same mentor as his mother did years before. As of the moment, he has joined the Empire's military forces as a newbie healer and is staying under his uncle's kind guidance in the city of Koben.

Likes: The smell of burning firewood, warm blankets, plants and flowers, traditional music
Dislikes: Small cramped spaces, traveling for long hours, ill/bad behaviour without reason

- Good with reading maps and following directions.
- Is slightly lactose intolerant. He can't consume too much milk or cheese but likes eating it.
- Knows how to wield a sword and wrestle, but refuses to involve himself in a fight unless it is a friendly sparring session.
- Is still studying medicine, fairly new in the field but his quarter dark elf blood helps him with a bit of healing magic.
