Description We were watching The Little Mermaid late one night just because we felt like watching a movie. I was really inspired to draw Ariel because I just couldn't get over how her hair flowed around underwater. Very pretty. Anywho, she's holding two balls, which I one day hope to color so that they look like they're glowing. [shrugs] never know if i'll ever get around to it though. I really like how she came out though. ^^

Me again

Okie dokie... just like last time you're doing just dandy with faces.

The hair is nice, good detail, but it looks a bit blocky in places as if you were really forcing yourself to make specific shapes. Hair is flowing and usually possesses a smooth shape, so just go with it and don't try as hard to force it to bend to your will; the more natural the strokes look, the more natural the hair looks

Shoulders... much too big (height-wise) methinks. If you would bring everything (from the shoulders up) -down- just a scootch, it would look a lot better, and at the same time fix the fact that her boobies are hanging way too low for being so small On that subject, the line just above the bra clasp is totally unnecessary. At the very least it should be moved to the right so that it actually becomes part of that breast. As it is now, it just looks like a spike or a hair poking up from the clasp O.o

The arm in the foreground should have a little more definition (its too skinny, but not by much), both for the appropriate look and to match the other arm. The forearms are fine. Her finger positioning looks awkward... try putting your hands in a position similar to what you want to draw and use them as a model. If its too awkward for you do do it with your hands, chances are you should consider rethinking the position.

The lines on this piece are nice, but it really looks like you had trouble keeping your hand stable for the long, flowing ones. I know its hard, but just take it slow and be careful. If you have a couple bucks, you could pick up some curves (plastic or metal shapes with random curving edges on them. you just line up the shape to whatever part of the drawing you want and use it like a straight-edge, but for curves) at just about any art store. I got some from staples that work for me.

Hope this helps

Sorry for the choppy lines. It was like.. 2 in the morning and my hands were frozen. x_X I think i usually have smoother lines, but oh well.

I was trying to get smoother looking hair, but i was also trying to give it that underwatery kinda' bouncy floating around without a care kinda' look. it's really hard since i don't do that at all. ugh.

I was trying to draw skinnier arms, but i guess i did them too skinny. my friend used to bitch at me a lot about how they're too fat and blah blah blah. O_o

It's kinda' hard to ask someone to be a model. really hard, actually, since i kinda' take a while and then there are all those times where i feel sorry for making someone sit there for a long time and let me draw their hands. i don't wanna ask because i feel like i'm imposing on them, y'know? x_X i don't always have a mirror handy when i do these pics either. that Rogarth one [sexy man with wings] that you commented on was done during a video game tournament, and I wanted to show my friend how the sexy man looked. [Rogarth is property of my friend, just so ya' know.]

I tend to draw people with shrugging kinda' shoulders, and after i'd posted this and was looking at it i realized that i should have brought the shoulders closer toward her neck to make it a bit more natural. i guess pulling them down would work as well, but who knows? i'm not going to edit it. i never do. i'll try using your comments on future works though. ^^ thanks.

I only wish my doodles looked that good.

I have a few I may put up that I did in class. Most of it is just Kupo in his Kuroi Tenshi form.
