Recently, I was reading a fanfiction by the lovely and talented MikaLero about Martin Septim and her OC. It brought back lots of Tes Oblivion feels and I remembered one of my *very* first attempts at a digital painting was of Martin and my Oblivion Bosmer (imaginatively called 'Chloë'). The original picture is kind of... embarrassingly tragic, but this shows you how much improvement a self taught "Digital Artist" can make over 2 years! Granted, the fact that I'm now using much better tools helps. I had plenty of experience as a traditional artist, but I think I did the picture below on a cheap, rickety bamboo tablet with an old version of GIMP on a lousy Toshiba laptop.... Talk about making life hard for myself!I spent a few hours on this today, and it just kind of shows where the obsession I have with red haired Elves comes from!

Maybe I should do a "version 3" in another 2 years time...

Awww how sweet. I really love this version, the colors, the lighting, MARTIN'S EXPRESSION HUEHUEHUE it's so goooooooood. You have improved so much over such a short time! gives me hope that maybe I'll be a good artist in like 20 years or so

Haha thank you! The secret is just to work hard every single day. Not using crappy tools is also helpful! Art is completely subjective so who's to say you're not a "good" artist now?

I really should learn how to use GIMP, and maybe I'd actually like to practice every day. I mostly just draw for about 30 minutes, say "this is dreadful" and delete it or throw it away. I haven't seen any improvement in my drawings in like 5 years.

I keep a sketchbook too! I always say draw from life as much as you can. Gimp is great for starting and even if you do move on to other software you'll have a good grasp of the interfaces.
Hey, we're all always learning so don't be too hard on yourself! Maybe we should do an art trade, something to challenge both of us?

Oh wow, talk about improvement! Well, I don't think your first one is really bad tbh. But this version is a lot better because the background elements give you a better idea where they are..not that..I really know where they are, but I think you know what I mean? lol Anyway, I love the detail and this is really pretty to look at~ Keep up the good work!

XD Zomg, in my head, from the time they first fall in to bed to the end of the main quest is... 6ish months give or take. Often and loudly. So funny though..., when they first present themselves at Bruma, before the huge battle with the Major Gate, they haven't quite... made it public knowledge yet. And the Countess is ALL over Martin with the shameless flirting.
Lysa wants to rip her eyeballs out. And poor Martin is there all like, "Oh dear Akatosh, what fresh hell is this?"
