This is magnificent! I'm not sure I understand the lighting, but the result is great. You have such a fine eye for knowing what is worth viewing. This goes into another collection.

At the risk of sounding obtuse and ignorant, I must admit that I had never known that a ring would cast shadows shaped like a heart, when the light was above and behind it. I just never knew that before. Where have I been?

It is. The first thing I saw of yours was the "self portret" that you said came from a photobooth. Do you mean one of those things like in "Amelie".
Even if it came from a photobooth, it's still magic! The joy and strange light is there.

Since I live in America, I can only begin to imagine how tempting it is for many women to imitate Amelie.
Of course, they should refrain from that. It should be embarrassing to overtly imitate a star.
It would be like American boys in the fifties imitating Elvis. Once they started, it was hard to stop.

they always want to be over the top
they never make a own style
thats why theyd on't got big artists (if you think about painters and stuff) and that also why they are good in acting caus ethey know how to copy

We don't have to be known by our lowest, most dreadful cultural contributors, do we? Certainly Belgium would not want to be known by it's lowest cultural contributors. I'm sure of that!
"Never make our own style" is not true. We don't have big artists? That's simply not true, either. Anyway, let's not worry about it. We have plenty of crappy, lousy, copy-cat artists and musicians in America, too! There is no reason to deny it.
Of course Burton and Depp are Americans. America is a huge place with immense cultural collisions taking place, and always has been. Some Americans appeal to Europeans and others do not, but Tim and Johnny have great appeal. Sometimes there are Americans who gain much more appeal abroad than here in the states. Edgar Allan Poe was one example, and there are many more.
