Aw, its bittersweet seeing Anzu finally acheiving her lifelong dream, but missing Yami, Yugi, her friends, or all of the above! I like how you can read so much into this piece, from her solemn expression, to her unenthused body language. I really like the texture of her tutu, and I envy her for making it to toe shoes so quickly, for after 4 years of ballet myself, I never got to wear them!

I totally adore Anzu's expression, you captured her feelings so well. I completely agree with you on the fact that Anzu will never be the same after Atem's leaving, even if one day her dream of becoming a dancer come true, somehow she will never really feel complete. Someone is missing, and time will not heal this kind of scar.

This couldn't be more true, Anzu would be in for some depression for a good while though she'd try her best to hide it from people around her.
This leaves me wondering how Atem could have made such an impact on her, though. There must be a lot of reasons for this methinks. Anzu's a romantic at heart, but I suspect there must be some variant of Stockholm syndrom in her emotional attachment: he's saved her life more than that can be counted, the intense feelings she have felt while being rescued by Yami/Atem must play a part in that (fear, the rush of adrenaline, then relief and a feeling of safety). Who knows?

Atem was just a voice and a hormonal fantasy, as evidenced by the photo of the blacked-out superman-type Shaadi found in her soul room. But what about her love for Yugi? She freely admits to preferring his company to Yami's in Duelist Kingdom, and exhibits jealousy at Rebecca's advances. Yugi was/is her loyal love, the rock she may not have realized til this moment she was so dependent on...

Okay, be prepared for a serious rant ahead.
Anzu's initial attraction to Yami Yuugi stemmed from hormones and thrill associated with the danger he's repeteadly saved her from -- that's true. But what about all the next events in the anime/manga, mmh?
Let's keep in mind that by the time Shadi's visited her soul room, Yami was still believed to be Yuugi's other self. A shadow without identity on his own. And that belief remained in the gang until Duelist Kingdom - which is likely the reason why in the scene you've referred to , Anzu told Yuugi, "Just stay the way you are" or "it's fine with the regular Yuugi," depending on the manga translation (which, by the way, has nothing to do with Anzu preferring Yuugi's company over Yami's). Since the two Yuugis are reportedly parts of the same individual; she thought being with the normal Yuugi equated to being with the other one, too.
But the following events that led to Battle city came to prove the contrary to Anzu and the others. They discovered Yami was an ancient Pharaoh. That is, a whole different person Anzu actually came to care for. Someone whose needs and hopes she acknowledged and respected - enough to pep talk him into pursuing his goals. Into looking for his memories, because no matter how much she wanted Yami to stay in the modern world with his friends - with her - Anzu knew it was egoistical to keep him from moving forward. So she just encouraged him to do what his heart was urging him to. Even though it meant he might leave them some day.
The Doma arc is the culmination point where she discovered Yami was a just human, with shortcomings and many defaults too. Yet, she still trusted him - enough to jump into the other train wagon, confident he was going to catch her. She believed in him to save Yuugi's soul, supporting him throughout all his duels. A few episodes later, in the Memory arc, she offers him that cartouche so he can later inscribe his name upon it - and that's even that gift that will allow Atem to defeat Zork.
Of course, you're free to interpret the canon however you like. You're free to ship your otp; to say Anzu was actually in love with Yuugi; but love or friendship - the fact remains there was a bond between Yami/Atem and Anzu. That is, a mutual trust that goes beyond the voice and a hormonal fantasy thing, and which definitely needs more recognition.

Hello,
the thought that she's not happy as a dancer, I had too. And I have see other authors who think that too.
It's also a difficult road for Tea for sure. As a viewer, she seemed to us always more like a great friendship-fanatic, but how strong her desire is to be a dancer, has been shown less clear. But Tea speaks of dancing during the series again and again, so I think she will hold ambitious to that desire.
The fanart has become really pretty. Although her foot looks a bit too small, but her face is pretty. She has wonderful full lips and pretty big eyes.

This is my favourite fanart of Anzu now.
She looks simply beautiful in her dancing outfit. You've done a great job on her facial expression. Just looking into her eyes makes obvious how much she misses her friends, family and everyone else she left back in Japan. By the way the quote fits more than just perfectly to her situation. This fanart makes me wanna write fanfiction again.
