committing to mem'ry.

though you've long since
parted ways he still resides
in the caverns of your heart.
every so often, shared mem'ries
like smoke, whisper and waft
their way to the surface.

when these mem'ries, like a thief
in the dead of night, sneak their
way to the forefront of your mind;
it is like he was merely the boy
of your yesteryear.
