Description

Since the creation of cinema, there has been a countless array of motion pictures that have astounded the senses, captivated the curious, and influenced the innocent of dreamers. Films like 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, FANTASIA, and STAR WARS have inspired children and the children inside us that dreams can become reality, and that the imagination truly has no boundaries. And what better example than the 1988 magnum opus FELIX THE CAT: THE MOVIE.

The classic cartoon character that has truly stood the test of time goes on a remarkable journey, across a sea of stars, beyond normal comprehension, to a world unlike ours. A beautiful princess named Oriana has been held captive by the forces of evil in the barren wastelands of Zill. As Felix wanders the dark surroundings around him, he not only encounters friends of new and old, he discovers on his own that deep inside him beats the heart of a fearless knight, and that only he can save Oriana's kingdom from the clutches of a treacherous relative.

One of the most magical gems in cinematic history, FELIX THE CAT: THE MOVIE is an incredible odyssey into the minds of the normal and abnormal. Dazzling animation that not even Disney can top, unforgettable melodies that move the story forward and expand on the characters and personalities, and mind-boggling creativity and originality that no filmmaker has tried to outdo since then. This is a huge step beyond animation, an adventure that has single-handedly made people realize just how important this unique medium has been to us over the years.

What I honestly admired about this movie are the music and nothing else.

^ He's not a bad character, this movie didn't do him justice though. Except for the songs...sooooo good.

Nice employment of sarcasm in the description (I assume).

I never sat through that entire movie. The part that stands out most in my mind was a scene in a mine shaft or whatever, where, apropos of nothing, Felix points and laughs at a human skull on the ground, like he's cruelly mocking its owner for having died.

I've actually never seen much Felix the Cat, period. For a dollar, I once got a DVD with some of his really old cartoons; I feel like I paid too much.

I really like this! Great work!

I suspect you're joking about the whole animation better than Disney thing though, lol. I thought there was decent animation throughout but some of it was just awful. Best music ever though, and those lighting effects were really good.

I reviewed that movie when I was really into the Nostalgia Critic (www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bXMWh… - it was actually the video I submitted to audition for the Nostalgia Chick (I didn't win, obviously ).

This here. This was my childhood. I used to catch this whenever we had the Disney trial period on weekends, during the glory days of basic cable. Good times, man. Good times.

THAT GODDAMN VILLAIN SONG.

WHEN WILL THAT LEAVE MY HEAD.

Seriously though, I do actually consider this a guilty pleasure. Love the obviously sarcastic description. XD

My eyyyyessss! I will give ya credit with the fact that you give art to some of the more obscure cartoon movies like these! This alone is more entertaining than the movie! Maybe one day Twisted Tales will get its due! Either way, great job!

You really know a lot of cartoons and films and your fan arts of them are awesome!

I watched several old b&w shorts about Felix and also animated episodes as a kid. Liked them.

Thanks! The animated series THE TWISTED TALES OF FELIX THE CAT is pure insanity - one of my fave shows Haven't seen a lot of the B&W shorts.
