I've been reading Dante's Inferno for school, and was inspired to draw one of the rings of Hell- the wood of the suicides.Here is the finished piece- rather foreboding I think.
Dante has just entered into a new ring of hell, the wood of the suicides. The quote is from lines 2-6 of Canto XIII of the 'Inferno'.
Again, wanted to try the greyscale style- this time though with a bit of desaturated reds and greens to give it a slightly more sickening appearance in color. This IS a part of Hell after all.

It's definitely foreboding. There's actually a forest called Aokigahara which is a popular place for suicides.

I think it's somewhere in Japan. Depending on what website you're on, it's ranked first or second for most suicides in the world with the Golden Gate Bridge as second to it or first.
