Hi!
I really like astro pics, especially Orion (The Orion nebula was the first kick on the road of astronomy in my childhood). This is a great pic but I do not understand the "wide angle" thing:Β When I hear "Wide angle" I always think to a "landscape-wideish" image or pic. What does mean "Wide Angle" in astro photography? I do not understand it. - I googled but did not find any relevant - only Shoot milkyway with wide angle, etc...
Thanks!
Lewis

Wide angle means using lens with a wider angle instead of using telescope.

This looks gorgeous, great job! I need to get a good star tracker, every time I attempt to take a shot with my 300mm its just too blurred.

Thank you so much for the kind words.Β  It's a pain sometime with 300 mm lens to get them in focus on stars, couple of times i had some trouble with the starsΒ  out of focus.
I have to focus on the moon or jupiter to get the lens to be focus for shooting stars.Β
Β I use a piggyback mount on my telescope and mount my telescope onΒ  a CGEM mount.Β
There some pretty cool star trackers like the vixen and the iOptron Skytracker Camera mount.

Thank you! I have a star tracker for my tripod, I just need to figure it out. I can manually focus my 300mm it's just getting the shots not to be blurry. I can't mount anything on my telescope since its a base dob. But eventually I'd like to purchase a better telescope with that capability.
