I came here via your response to my comment on "Capital"... I agree; there's a similar sense of "childishness" (I suppose that's as good a word as any!) here... in fact, it occurred to me that it seems almost as if this collection of upthrust rock *grew* into the castle pictured in "Capital"! Sorta reminds me of a scifi story I once read

I do think this childishness thing comes out more strongly in "Capital" though.. it's probably because most of the tower structures there seemed a little flat; they didn't have that kind of sharp-edged, shadowed distinction which I associate with stone architecture. Well that's my opinion anyway!

i really like your capital and kingdom sketches, but this has some real power to it as well. Totally a farse but very structural, i like that.

thanks! I actually finished this drawing shortly before I started working on the castle drawings. A few bits and pieces of the style I used here carried over as well.

as intense and awesome as your more 'realistic' pieces are, i think there's a lot of room for exploration here. really cool.
