This is one of the best restorations of Velociraptor I've ever seen. It would be perfect if they were also present dewclaws. Who knows what it would do with a wonderful background behind!Β Β Β

Looks nice and smooth. Just a though: what about the head? Is it just me or is it too static? Watch birds' heads when they walk.

Very nice, although I agree that the head should move slightly.

Make a brightly colored one that shuffles.
Everyday I'm shufflin'...

I'll agree with the others that the head neads to be moving. Everything else is good though.

[link] [link] like these? they barely move the head.
...anyway I'm working on it, I just saw DR Utahs and yes, they "head-bob" a lot.

It doesn't need to move heaps, just a bit, to make it seem less stiff.

The first thing I notice (like Willoughby above me) is that the head totally lacks movement. The tail and arms are conveying motion, but the entire neck and head look as though they're solidly fixed to a rigid body.
These guys are little packages of connected muscleβthey'd probably put their whole body into a run, bobbing and flicking their head and limbs in a rather frenetic manner. I'd suggest pulling the neck back first, then pushing it forward as the 'raptor launches from each step. You can tweak from there until it looks just right.
Leaving the head and neck on separate layers to move them independently should help as well. (That's what I'd do, at least.)
With that, an additional tweak to pull the arm back just a smidge with each advancement would enhance the effect of life-like effort that the animal is putting into its jog. That's not so much vital to a simple run cycle as it would be a nice perk, though.

You're most welcome. And like others have said, it doesn't have to be a lot of movement. I wouldn't look to the ratites for reference, eitherβtheir body plan is very specific and they lack a tail and low-slung gait.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Wonderful!
I imagine that in life it might have a little more "head-bob" going on than you've depicted, but it's definitely one of the most realistic 2D dromaeosaur animations I've seen.
