Description

Since Valentines Day is just around the corner and Deviants are starting to pop up with roses and hearts to commemorate the mood… I decided I would try my hand at something similar (with one such preliminary attempt being my prior Deviant Moonlit Embrace ) that focused on using the Midjourney V6 style reference (--sref) command.

While creating Moonlit Embrace I did come across a few variations that were good prospects for future Deviations (I generally end up with a number of good candidates, but I try to be selective on what actually makes it as a Deviation).

One candidate, that I will refer to as the proto maiden, caught my eye and gave me a number of ideas (the dark expression on the maidens face really resonated with me) but I knew it would take quite a bit of work to get it into something presentable (where it started at and where I wanted it to end up at was going to require quite a bit of Inpainting and photoshop work).

As the project developed, I ended up migrating towards a scornful sorceress either begrudgingly thinking about romance or reminiscing about lost opportunities. A staff with dim colored hearts was added (that symbolizes her internal monolog) along with a heart shape window that I eventually decided to turn into a magical viewing portal.

At this point I knew I wanted to display some type of mood counterpoint within the portal and generated several romantic images along with portal effects but had a rather difficult time settling on something profound enough to use for the final product. After configuring a photoshop mask and trying several variations I was about to settle on one but then remembered photoshop does support animation and decided to try my hand at creating one (why select a single image when you can use them all).

Currently I am still learning quite a bit about photoshop animation (I do have access to aftereffects and hear it is a better platform for this so I might try it later) so I consider this a reasonable first attempt. I also wanted to see how video deviants work, as this is a relatively new concept to me (the video is designed to be looped but I am unsure how Deviant art will render it in a Deviation).

Thus, I present these results here for fun, depending how this goes I might post a follow-up singular image render as well ... Enjoy!
