Description My version of the console room.

Did this all in shot by cutting the back off the TTardis model and making a hole in the background, rather surprised it worked actually.

Made the console room kinda steam punk, with lots of blue and metal, so its probably not steam-punk... Coal punk maybe?

With the recent sneak peeks at the new console room to be revealed at Xmas, this is kind of giving us a further glimpse. Im assuming that the new console will follow these kind of footsteps...

I believe the word you're looking for is "Cyberpunk". Though that's kind of strange for use with Doctor Who, seeing as the Cybermen aren't exactly friendly.

Rocketpunk is that very 1940s-50s scifi feel with lots of steel, exposed framework, girders with holes, death rays, spindle-shaped spacecraft with big fins; robots are allowed but no computers or anything else we'd think of as being modern technology. Think of the old Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials, or Captain Proton if you're into Star Trek: Voyager. The essential aesthetic of rocketpunk is sometimes called "zeerust", which Douglas Adams defined as "the particular kind of datedness which afflicts things that were originally designed to look futuristic", or "raygun gothic".

Dieselpunk has more of an art deco, inter-war, 1920s-1930s feel. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is very dieselpunk. You could probably classify Bioshock as dieselpunk too.

Cool, in that case its probably more verging on Diesel punk.

Yes but don't leave crumbs around the consul, they get into every nook and cranny and its thousands of years before i get around to having a spring clean, by then they've evolved into sentient life and have decided they have every right to exist and not be moved...

This looks really cool. I love the glimpsed interior. I wonder how it would look if the console was a little farther back – I think it might add to the sense of scale. By the way I really like the way you've done that Eighth style column on a retro looking console

Cheers , i didn't want the roof to catch in shot so i pulled the camera way back and zoomed in, in reality it is probably about the same distance as the 2005-2009 one is to the door maybe a smidgen closer. Im still not entirely sure what the interior lay out is so it could change.

Very nice work!
If I was going to critique anything, I'd say it looks like the console in the tardis is too close to the door, but if you put it the 20 odd feet inside the door that we see in the show, then you wouldn't likely see the detail as clearly.
Looks like you might have brought in a few elements from ST:tng heh

Cheers, good point, in feet level its about 15-18 feet from the doors (way further than the classic series one but closer than Tennants i think) i had to pull the camera way back and zoom in though.
Went a little space 1999 on the exterior :S

Well, the center vertical tube on the console looks like the Dilithium chamber from tng.

I didn't notice anything on the outside looking like it was from space 1999? It looks remarkably like the one from "Time" [link]

can't draw/shop it worth a crap, but mine is kinda a cross between the two current console floors. I like 9/10s console and columns, but I like 11's room in general.... dunno.... it's turns out weird....
