Good thing more and more people are waking up to the failure that is antifa.
You can't find actual fascists, so call everybody that doesn't agree with them fascist.

Fascism is a form of government where one group, person or party has total power over all other groups.
Nazism is a belief that was put foward by the Nazi party in Germany. The Nazi party had total power which meant it was in a Fascist government but that does not mean that fascism stands for what a group in a fascist government did.
The americans invaded Iraq (or afghanistan or both) but that does not mean that democracy stands for waging war on terrorism or in the name of profit.

Either way, fascism is a bad idea all around. Even though you are entitled to your opinion, just remember that under fascism you would not be allowed a seperate opinion.

That's a stereotype.
A fascist government can still allow freedom of speech the same way a democracy could deny freedom of speech to certian groups.

groundedcrow In reply to liveandreloaded [2009-10-23 23:14:24 +0000 UTC]

Um...I don't don't know where you get your information, but no Fascist system would ever allow freedom of speech. The very core of the ideal is for the government to supress anything outside the accepted spectrum.

Fascism IS totalitarianism. What fascist regime have you ever seen that wasn't a brutal dictatorship?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

liveandreloaded In reply to groundedcrow [2009-10-24 17:29:34 +0000 UTC]

There was lots of dictatorships in Europe in the 20th centuary but have you ever heard of any of them? No, of course you havn't because you are two focused on the one's that were brutal dictatorships.
Communist russia under Stalin was a brutal totalitarian dictatorship but isn't communism far left wing while fascism is far right wing? Totalitarianism is not unique to any form of government nor is it always a part of any government, you have been brainwashed by stereotypes created from one sided views on history.
As they say "the victor writes the history books."

groundedcrow In reply to liveandreloaded [2009-10-24 21:44:06 +0000 UTC]

I understand Totalitarianism just fine, I simply don't think Fascism, or for that matter Stalinist Communism, is an exceptable form of government. Democracy is the best way because it serves the people through a system where everyone contributes with the decisions. No one man should have unlimited government power. Besides, there is evidence to support that Fascism is not a right wing system, but indeed a left wing system, and I would have to agree.

liveandreloaded In reply to groundedcrow [2009-10-25 00:49:47 +0000 UTC]

Fine that's your opinion but fascist governments can have a group/party in power aswell, not just one person. I however think that under a fascist government a party is free to work towards a goal/fixing a problem without opposition, red tape and having to get the publics permission. In other words while fascism is risky, it is far more efficiant.
Fascism is far right wing, can you prove otherwise?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

groundedcrow In reply to liveandreloaded [2009-10-25 01:40:14 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I can prove otherwise, as a matter of fact. Right wing politics have always been focused on preserving an established cultural tradition, religion being one of these things. The Italian Fascist movement and the Nazi regime both wanted to eliminate Christianity, and have the people adopt a state religion. Also, right wingers favor capitalist free markets and usually defended traditional monarchs of their times. Fascist were a radical new group in the 1920's through the 1940's, so they could hardly be called "conservative". It has always been a far-left mentality to completely annihilate the existing social order and replace it.

lol, it means that we've just been saying the same stuff back and forth. But it's been good; a decently intellectual conversation for once, which is pretty rare on the internet. Where you from, man?

Yeah, it's nice to have an intellectual debate for once instead of someone just calling me a nazi from the start.

Ireland. Yourself?

Im from the States, but don't get much love being a communist and such. Ireland's a cool country, though, was there last summer visiting my relatives.

liveandreloaded In reply to groundedcrow [2009-10-25 03:39:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I love my country but people constantly give out about the rain.
I usually don't have a problem with followers of a government type I dislike because ye are supporting what ye think is best for your country/the world.
I like America, gotta respect a powerfull country like that. There always seems to be a group of ye that have a problem with your president though.

groundedcrow In reply to liveandreloaded [2009-10-25 03:45:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I personally don't agree with him and neither do alot of people I know. From what I understand, Irish politics can be pretty complex, huh? Atleast compared to the standard Black and White we dumb americans are used to.

liveandreloaded In reply to groundedcrow [2009-10-25 03:54:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, all the parties seem the same to me.
There's Fianna Fail (soldiers of fortune (I think))
There's Sinn Fein (We ourselves)
There's Fine Geal (Family of the Irish)
There's the Progressive Democrats
There's the Green Party
and if there's any other party then I can't think of them.
Yep, Irish politics are confusing.
Our leader isn't actually the president, she only signs documents and commands the army, our leader is called An Taoiseach (The Leader).

groundedcrow In reply to liveandreloaded [2009-10-25 04:36:40 +0000 UTC]

Probably, I looked into the parties and I think the only one I'd go for would be the Labour Party, if I voted there. Well, ultimately I don't like political parties, as all they do is split the country apart and focus on agendas rather than what's best.
