do you still remember this scene?
i wanna draw this scene and it almost killed me when the sky (?) is red while they're actually in the Waterfall area???(if i am not mistaken)
anyway i draw 2 version of same scene to show the contrast xD (as a part of practicing background drawing, too)
the Waterfall area seems more obvious in this version, the Echo-flowers, glowing lake, and water-sausage plant in the lake..
but i cant help to draw the character SO SMALL to fit in to the background (and i didnt paint it well DONT ZOOM THEM!)
for me i doesnt like this version much because the color is too contrast and eye-hurting, but this is more attached to originality of the game.
anyway i hope you like this simple/messy-ly done pic.
they're Undyne and Frisk from Undertale.

E: I think the intense contrast adds to the fact the scene is suppose to be intense and I actually like how it looks. It's also more obvious that this is the waterfall area but as I stated before that likely has to do with the fact we are seeing it in the dark as we do in the game. It's interesting to switch between the two as they have such different feels to them. The one in day light seems like any day and they are on a hike while this one it's obvious that Undyn is being imposing and there is just little Frisk standing there ready for Undyn's attack.Β
Also wanted to note that at least here in the U.S. we call the "water-sasage plant- are cattail's so cattail for just one. I don't know why they are called that but I find the name cute.

I think the clashing of colors fits well for this scene since it is suppose to be an unsettling and intense moment.
I know that's why in the famous painting "The Scream" the artist who painted it,Β Edvard Munch, put in a bright orange sky despite theΒ rest of theΒ art work
having a very dull color palette was to give it an unsettling feeling to it.
Undyne really looks epic! She really looks like she's ready for a serious fight!
