The image is a little small, which makes it difficult to study the details, but this is a solid piece. Looks like you worked intently on his eyes, so THAT is the immediate focus of attention. The character is captured nicely. An expression of threatening paranoia! I like the sketch quality here, although the work on the bowtie is somewhat distracting. It is outlined and shaded in a similar line-weight as the face, which suggests that it's equal in importance. Softening the outline..or leaving it framed only by the black of the cape might work a little better. Overall...I think you've nailed it!

First off, thank you for taking time to give my work a closer look and provide a critique.
Sorry about the size, the original is not much larger (2.5" x 3.5"). I originally started out just posting them to my facebook account so I saved them at 72 dpi. I think now that I am here on DA I will submit them at a higher resolution.
Good catch on the bow tie. I never noticed the line weight on the tie... now it's all I see. Good thing these cards are in pencil, I can correct them pretty easy.

Indeed it's a good thing when you can go back into a piece you've created and make changes for the better. I've done it many times! I scan my pieces in at 300dpi. I'm fairly sure that all my images give the viewer the ability to further enlarge the image by clicking on it again...so they can examine the linework, or color blending, or whatever is there to study. The art is in the process, so I try to give everyone the chance to see whatever is there to see.
