As I looked at this finished piece, the title of "Bright and Morning Star" immediately hit me...but I paused, as I thought of the source of this "title". My first thoughts were of the bible verse of...

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star." - Rev 22:16

But then I paused, because I was sure I'd heard a similar reference to the devil. As I researched this today, I found the bible verse that I was remembering, which is excerpted below...

"How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!" - Isa 14:12-15

That verse speaks of the devil, who was once among the brightest of angels in heaven, before rebelling against God and being cast out.

Anyway...what's my point? Quite simply, I was reminded today to always be vigilant with eyes wide open, as the devil tries hard to look like Christ and be what he is not. Christ called himself "THE bright Morning Star", and satan is refered to in other verse as "O morning star"....very subtle difference, eh? It served as a reminder to me that not all things appearing beautiful will be of Christ...and not to always trust what my eyes see in beauty....but to prayerfully consider all that is before me and to be wise towards what is truly sent of The Lord.

Ok..that's it. I don't usually get all preachy on here... but I DO usually talk about what inspires my artwork, and this is what came about from this piece.
