RIKUO!
Gosh there is not enough of this guy out there. I love my boy JT, but Rikuo is a close second. Also I like how this gives some visual downtime from all the in your face-ness of a lot of the other submissions.

The atmosphere of this piece is amazing; has that "Creature of the Black Lagoon" feel definitely hehe. The texture of the scales is another thing that makes this piece stand out and I must say, good job man!

Thanks. Colors are something I'm always struggling with. It never makes as much sense in my head as greyscales.

Thanks. That's more or less what I was going for. Made the character small and off center to give the background space and to isolate the figure.

Thanks, yeah that's not a coincidence. In a way, I taught myself to render on paper by working in Photoshop. My approach to both is virtually the same.

You did Rikuo? I don't think many did him. Nice choice and good conept on how you did the shadows and lighting. Makes it look like he's contemplating and inner sadness and hasn't noticed the observer yet.

Thanks, yeah I'm not a big DS guy, but love the designs. This one in particular spoke to me. The huge fins and everything. I also wanted to go with a scene that wasn't all action and in your face cause I knew almost everyone else would be doing that.

Are you an artist? If you are then you know the answer to that already. Of course I'm not content with this. This or any other piece I've ever done. Show me twenty things wrong with this and I'll show you twenty more. What's your point. I don't show art and say, "look everyone, this piece is perfect" I show the art that I do. Sorry it bothers you so much.
