Hmmm. This isn't abstract. How can this make DD? I wouldn't even consider this art, more like a boring ass picture that forces you to read into it like you'll find anything worth thinking about anyway. This isn't DD material. This just pisses me off when alot better deviations could be on the front page. Seriously, if you think this is "Amazing!" "Simplistic yet deep!" "+fav" and all that

Armatage, do you know what a Daily Deviation is? From the FAQ-
'The Daily Deviations are selected by a number of staff members. It is chosen based on personal preference and the desire to feature a particular deviation each day, for whatever reason that staff member deems appropriate. Do not question the selections as they are staff features and NOT awards!'
Maybe if you're so bothered about this, you should bring it up with a staff member. They're the ones that select the artworks, not the member themself. I've had two DDs and have been completely shocked both times. You can never know when you're going to get one, let alone two!
And who cares what the staff picks anyway? They run the site and should be able to give works and artists they enjoy more exposure.
If you want to leave a critique on an artwork, try do it the right way. Critiques should be constructive, they should point out valid suggestions for improvements to a work of art. They should be educated and helpful, not useless like "I wouldn't even consider this art, more like a boring ass picture that forces you to read into it like you'll find anything worth thinking about anyway."
And just because you don't like an artwork doesn't mean it's not art. There is a group of photographers on deviantART at the moment, myself included, who are really enjoying working in this particular style - and are getting much inspriation and pleasure from viewing eachothers artworks. Surely that's a good thing?
I don't particularly like what I see in your gallery, but that gives me no right to claim your work is 'not art', no matter how much I'd like to.

we don't choose to get a DD. It's just a gift, a virtual one...
I didn't ask for it. Maybe that's better if you write those words to the DD administrators.....

the simplicity that this is just something out there that most people might walk by 100 times a week and now as we view it in a photograph, it's thought provoking.
Very cool. Makes me think of a few stories I could write. Strange how most of them involve mysterious doors...
