Way cool. for this being so good. Thanks for having a widescreen version, too... although you'd make life easier for yourself if you simply did a 1920x1200 and a 2048x1536 for each WP, since users with smaller displays can scale down, but not vice versa. Anyways though, fantastic!

ahh thanks for the comment and also for the advice. i'll start making the 1920x1200 resolution for widescreen as the default when i make widscreen wallpapers
i tend to make all these res's because i know a lot of the people who are looking for wallpapers and don't do art won't have the means to resize the image. it's really not too much work for me

I don't think the curve works too well. It conflicts too much with the third, thus creating a huge... blank area in the lower right corner. Purple's not my thing, either.

Overall, not to my tastes, but by no means bad. It's well done! With my knowlege of your art, it's quite spectaccularly done.

I'm glad you appreciate it even though it's not to your taste, you're an excellent critiquer, I can definitely see the problematic areas! Thanks

This is my favorite from your series. The focus brings the image a realistic quality and the randomness in the picture maintains a general order to form the swirl. I think this is some amazing work!

Hey - i have been using this as my wallpaper since you got the DD on the other piece. I was wondering why there is little splotches of the same color in the upper left corner, and then again on the left side? I think it would look better as a wall paper if all those edges were clear cut like the rest of the picture. Also, i was wondering if you have the original render files, and if I could possibly use a shot of this render.

hiya.. well, I didn't even notice that at first when I did the render.. then I figured I'd leave it in after finding them, as it kind of gives it a really closeup possibly dust on lens look. it might be a bit too much, but I found it would be difficult to edit multiple render sizes to clean that up.

hey how was this done? did you have boxes bended or what?
best one of the series i think

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chromosphere In reply to Mr-Magic [2006-05-06 17:08:55 +0000 UTC]

yep, it's done using a series of boxes randomized along a randomly drawn spline, then morphed with a twist modifier.. the process is quite easy!

The DOF is kind of weird looking.

Like, it should blur the edge, but it shouldn't have a sharp cutoff.

But good nonethelsss
