She looks pretty good for a desiccated, 2000+ year old corpse!
Like the emphasis on the chest gem, reminescent of the heart, which is the organ believed by the Egyptians to be the center of thought and the wellspring of life.
They believed that the heavier the heart, the less a chance you had of entering the afterlife. That all people knew what was right and wrong and that any wrongs they carried to their graves would weigh their hearts down. The purer and better-natured the person, the more likely they would enter the Land of the Dead.

I remember this show, she look very well done except her amulet on her chest was shaped like a felines head. Still nice job on her.

Ah Mummies Alive, such an underrated cartoon, but so awesome. As a mythology freak, i was glued to the screenn. Good job on drawing Nefertina! She looks hot!

I remember this piece of animation very well. It was well - written, produced, etc., for a " kid's program ".
I always thought it unusual that people who had been DEAD for somewhere around 3,000 years were so incredibly fit, buff, & lithe.
& Nefertina looked sexy considering the fact that she was essentially a walking, mobile, presumably EVISCERATED, DEHYDRATED Egyptian corpse !

I never saw the show myself, but i had similar thoughts. I assume that they were reawakened after a long period of rest... how long did it take them to learn english, and about all our modern ways and technologies?

Most of them adapted rather quickly after being resurrected/ reanimated. They built a glider, " Pyra - chutes " & a sleek Egyptian - style car called the " Hot - Ra ". One time Rath ( the scribe ) even helped build a robot for Presley's science project, which was stretching believability a bit, just like the fact that they didn't look too dessicated & honestly rather buff after 3 millennium.

Mummies and robots!
Martian pirates?
How about... ghosts from the future. Space elves from hell. Darth Frodo.

The robot science project was just a one time thing in the series, Rath always thought magic was superior to modern technology, although they all became addicted to the magic of the " spirit box " connected to cable !! Mummies turning to couch potatoes !!
You have to admit, they were in great shape for dessicated, reanimated corpses with no internal organs except the heart.

I do remember these guys. I have a few of the action figures. I don't think they were that anorexic looking either. She's a beauty.

Thanks! I actually used a photo of an action figure as a reference, rather than a cel of the cartoon.

Bit o trivia: The voice of Nefertina started her career as the voice of Penny from the 'Inspector Gadget' show.
(Her name is Cree Summer, and has done _hundreds_ of shows.)

Basically this government mandate they put on the over-the-air broadcast stations to have three hours of educational shows. They didn't really enforce it at first but they've gotten down on it in the past sometimes in the mid-00s. This causing funding losses for affiliates, plus the competition from the cable networks equals the less non-educational cartoons on the tube now.

I remember that show, They had the mission to protect an American teenager who happened to be the descendant of an Egyptian king. You know, the usual...
Though, in that show, she was a bit more anorexic than here. Mummies tend to be that way.
Not that I mind your version, I love it.
