Considering how the actual Evolution went, I bet Nappa is the main villian with his side kick zarbon.
Seriously, why was Mia piccolo's side kick?

I was just relieved that Vegeta was spared from the movie.
Actually, Vegeta's dodged the live action bullet three times; in the past there's been live action DB movies made in China and Korea; both also started from DB as opposed to Z, and thus, no Vegeta. :3
Oh I can totally see that happening; Nappa and Zarbon.
They probably picked her because its:
1) Cheaper than creating Piano, Drum, etc on-screen.
2) They didn't care about accuracy at all.
3) Attempted sexual tension issues for the main character.
I read recently that James Marsters revealed the budget was more like 30 million or so, that probably attributed a lot to it.

Plz plz do not make a sequel! *pleads to them* If they foil Vegetas image like they did Gokus I wont be able to take it. I will slit my wrists and it will just be one big bloody mess of disappointment and hopelessness.

I'm amused by fake!Goku's expression in the last panel. Yes, you should be afraid, very afraid.
It's kind of strange to think of someone playing Vegeta in a live action adaptation (or bastardization as the case may be). I've never really considered who might be able to play him, and, honestly, I hope I never have to find out so long as these people are in charge of things.

I know what you mean, what's scary is that the whole concept they had about Goku being a High School student wasn't a last minute resort, ben Ramsey cooked that concept up back in 2005. But what would be sad is that there probably won't be another opportunity to make it the epic popcorn mvoie we all want to see. So no reboots after it flops.
What would be interesting about Wolverine beating up the DB movie is that you have a hugh jackman mvoie slicing up what could've been a hugh jackman movie. What I mean by that is years ago Jackman was set to play Goku but kept holding it off, projects like Van Helsing and X-2 kep him busy if not just those two but his career in general, he didn't have the heart for it and kept it on hold for so long that he got fired. Jackman is actually the sole reason why that project never went through.

Really?!
I had no idea he was slated to play Goku. That could've been interesting.
*Wonders what they would've done with the hair....*
But yeah, I agree; if they had been more faithful to the source material, a live action DB could've been epic.
I feel awful about what it came down to, but even if we don't get a reboot with a better cast and better writers (even the Hulk eventually got a reboot) at least we won't get a sequel.
I don't want to see what this group would do to Vegeta. @_@

Yes, Hugh Jackman was going to play Goku circa 2002-2003. The rsest of the cast included-
-Eliza Dushku( Faith from Buffy, Arnold's duaghter from True Lies) as Chichi.
-Jessica Alba as Bulma.
-Ray Park( Darth Maul, Toad from X-Men) as Vegeta.
-Pro Wrestler Bill Golderberg as Nappa.
-Chris Judge( Stargate SG-1) as Piccolo.
-Jason Bateman as Raditz.
-Orlando Bloom as Tien.
-And though nobody was sure there would be a second sequel, there was a rumor that The Rock was going to play Cell.
According to another Devaint here, who did a Star Wars/DBZ parody pic, Ray Park was in contract for two years and Fox didn't call him back.
The director would've been Roland Emmerich( Independence Day, Stargate, Universal Soldier, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow) and the writer of Terminator 3 was to pen it. ILM, George Luas' baby SFX company, was assigned to do the SFX.
What would've been quite juicy is to know that this movie would've been up to 3 to four hours long and would've had as much bigger budget.
There is a rare to find outline of the plot somewhere on the internet, would you like it if I linked it to you?
The reason why the Hulk got a reboot was becuase Marvel wanted one, not technically the studio from scratch, that and it should alot of potential at the box office for them more at the moment. A DB reboot would seem to be a little more a of complicated process jut to get a reboot out of it.
I agree, I fear that they'll make Vegeta some kind of soldier for the u.s. army who is related to Goku and finds out that he was a Sayian prince all along, he was just uncounscious most of his life.

Not only that but during the period of 2002-2003 DBZ was more popular through it's television audience, so the chances of it being a hit would've been larger than they are now.
Here's the link, hope it works for you, since this is the only site that I know of which contaisn actual details about the originally conceived film-
[link]
( Ignore the casting of Mini me and jackie chan, those were just for comedic reasons, I beleive)
Keep in mind this could've been fan written, if it was legit then that sounds like a pretty good concept, though the Dragonball side of it but hey at least Goku's not some high schooler.
As far as the 2003 movie could've went, I'm sorry for Ray Park, this sort of movie would've proven to hollywood that he is more than just a stunt man, but no.
As for Tien not being in the movie, well although he played a major role in that saga, we alreayd have too many characters already and it is somewhat above 100 minutes no less, there is a thing called less is more, and sadly it can apply to characters, unfortunatley.
Yeah it is, hope they don't consider that idea becuase then it would be too last minute with the character.

Vegeta is also much less forgiving.
I can't believe I'm almost cheering for the Hannah Montana movie...this is indeed a sad, sad day for Dragonball fandom. Still, those are two fanbases that don't seem to have a lot of overlap, and Dragonball is aimed more at a male audience while HM is marketted to tween (god, that's a stupid word) girls. Of course, it's interesting that the Dragonball fanbase in North America seems to be predominantly female. Maybe that's why they're trying to play up the romance a bit...Still sucks.
I don't think it'll matter much by the time Wolverine comes out. Most movies make the biggest profits within the first few weeks of opening. The live action movie have been out for almost a month at that point.
I don't think you're being unfairly harsh on this movie. The fact that the majority of the fanbase seems to have made a similar judgment about this movie says that you're no harsher than most of the rest of us. You're just a fan wanting to preserve the thing you enjoy.

Luckily, the stunt double was prepared for this contingency and course corrected his directory so that he landed in a large vat of marshmallow fluff. To save himself from drowning in such deliciousness, he performed a Goku like action by eating his way to safety.
