Description Tame Blue Jay Cyanocitta cristata.  She was brought to a rehabilitation center due to a wing injury, was deemed unreleasable, and has since resided at the Dallas Zoo, where she charms guests who are familiar with the native species, but rarely get to see one so close--or hand feed one treats!

Or you get dorks like me who are from the west coast and have never really gotten a good look at a blue jay
I caught a glimpse of one in Ohio, and one was seen at the Living Desert zoo & state park in Arizona.

They're all over the place here, all year round.  I was used to Scrub Jays and Yellow-billed Magpies before I moved to Texas, and was surprised by how comparatively shy the wild Blue Jays are.  They do not like people getting close to them, and I have yet to get a good picture of a wild jay.
