Description A Burrowing Owl. Many raptors that come into rehabilitation centers have anthropogenic injuries--meaning they came into contact with something man-made, whether it be a car, pesticides, electrical poles, tractors, gunshot (I think this is the most tragic because someone intentionally--and illegally--harmed that raptor), etc. Most are released but some have injuries too serious to heal fully. Like this little owl, they stay at a rehabilitation center and show the public the hazards human encroachment present to wildlife. Since we've already expanded into their homes, let's try to make our farmlands and cities as bird-friendly as possible. Make informed decisions and vote on environmental measures when you get the opportunity.
