DavisMarie — Great Horned Owl by-nc-nd

Description This owl was in captivity in the Ketchikan Rainforest Wildlife Reserve, which is the reason I could get so close. She had quite an attitude; as we walked out, she would turn to stare at us like we were some sort of slime.

Gorgeous picture! I used to work at the local Bird rehab here in KTN, and had the pleasure of befriending a Great Horned Owl. They are majestic, and very smart birds!

That's such a piercing stare. Especially so because of the sharp eyes being surrounded by the soft feathers.
