A simple shot with an imposing subject, "Atala Butterfly" has a unique focus helped with the background being blurred as it is not in focus. The detail is impressive and the light on the leave is caught well although it can detract from the butterfly somewhat. One asks if a more vibrant shot could have been achieved from a different angle, but given the fact that butterflies rarely stay still for long, this possibly spontaneous shot is a fantastic appreciation of a little creature that plays a big part in our gardens.
In all, a well considered shot with great lighting, focus on the subject and a simplicity that compliments it well.
