Yeh, we got a good population of these around here. Though it's not everyday we see them!
Mosly it's in the spring when theyre out basking in the sun, though i guess it's the same now in the fall, only that there's much more vefetation to hide out in and avoid getting spotted in.

I wish we had some down here, but our herp population is quite slim here.

Northeast US. There seems to be a lot of people here trying to get rid of their pet herps, which is very sad.

Yes. We also have some cases where people dump their pet's out in the woods, or somewhere where they think people will find them and take care of them. Mostly cats though. Herps are more unusual.
But you do also have some indigenous species right?

Yes, far more frogs, toads, and turtles. Where I live, it is a miracle if you can spot a simple garter snake.
