Description

'Lissotriton Vulgaris' ('Triturus Vulgaris') / Smooth newt / Common newt / Mindre Vattensalamander
This is a small example of said amphibian. Grows to be 6-10 centimeters in lenght. In Sweden they are a protected species, but unlike their bigger cousins 'Triturus cristatus', you are allowed to pick them up and examine them.

These are usually found on land under logs and in moist environments, unless in their water-phase during mating.
Found in the backyard!
