Description
Wounded and alone, the unicorn seeks out a secluded spot to die. Now that he has stopped running, soon the hunters and hounds will find the body and claim their prize.I'm disappointed in those trees, I could have done better. Disappointed in the ground, too. The moss I like, the blood isn't bad, but I think I'm out of practice.

I have to say that it is a very nice piece that has meaning in a way. We've all have heard stories of creature crawling somewhere special to die and I think this piece does capture that moment.
Vision- The piece is not bad at all with the background or color. The unicorn is clear the focal point which is what the artist wants.
Originality- Usually a piece like this I picture it with a buck deer or a wolf, so the unicorn is something different and that it give it more of a mythical/legend feel to it.
Technique- I just love those watercolors and inks. Its nice to see some traditional art and nothing is as traditional as inks and paint. My only issue is the moss on the rocks. I think that it need more detail to so that its moss and that its on rocks. I feel the trees came out good actually as well, the ink does mimic the bark on the trees.
Impact- Its a powerful message how the strong want to die an honorable or peacefully death as this unicorn. We all know some myth that involves hunting unicorns because of their prized horn. I feel its a powerful message myself.

I really like the moss clad stones. The unicorn's pose and the overall setting is very dramatic.

Stop it, those trees look great. All my trees always looks the same and yours are cool and different.

I took the style of the trees from an old artist called Arthur Rackham. He did the best trees, even today movie set producers for fantasy-films will base sets off his work and call them "Rackham trees."

And my amazing stupid-vision took all the seriousness out of this by making me misread the word "death". Instead, I read it as "derp". I feel like such a heartless jerk now. This picture is too pretty-sad for me to be screwing up the title like that!
