When Ginyu realized all his squad was taken care of and he had been defeated he begged for mercy as if he came back to lord Frieza with this, he would be dead anyway you look at it. So Kakarot being the kind saiyan that he is offered that he flee with Zarbon and Dodoria with his squad. Ginyu didn't want to be responsible for his men's deaths so he agreed and went to go follow the green and pink duo when he was cut off by Freiza.
A lot of things ensued and everyone left the exploding planet except for Kakarot and Burter who took the Ginyu's space pods to Yardrat and no one has had contact with them since.
