Description     "What are you doing?" Fission froze halfway out of the window and turned. There was a wyngling watching him. How had he not notice the wyngling enter the room? He thought Alma was reading stories to everyone to keep them busy, was this wyngling also looking to escape?

"What are you doing?" The light green wyngling piped up again. Their doe eyes stared up at Fission with confusion written across their features. Their small wings were outstretched and fluttering slightly as if they'd pick them up off the ground. There was an air of happiness around the young wyngling. Like they've never experienced pain and hardship. Fission had never experienced it either. That's why he's leaving. Or at least trying to leave. The wyngling's ear twitched, and Fission remembered they were waiting for a response.

"Nothing, just watching the trees," Fission had never seen this wyngling before. He had no reason to trust him. He could be one of Alma's pets. But Fission knew all of Alma's little helpers and he's never seen this wyngling orbiting around Alma like the rest of them. Maybe Alma had secret rats to catch the troublemakers. That's something he'll have to look into later.

"May I join you?" This had shaken Fission from his thoughts. Did this fool really think he was watching trees? And did he ask to join? He couldn't leave while this wyngling was here, but he also could say no. It would be too suspicious. So reluctantly, he was forced to agree. "I can't stop you"

The wyngling's smile glowed as he skipped his way to chair Fission was sitting on and happily climbed on. He was unbearably close. Fission tried to shy away but the annoying wyngling as adamant he was going to invade his personal space. There was a short period of silence as Fission begrudgingly watched the trees sway in the wind. He glanced at the wyngling every so often to see if he was losing interest, but each and every time the wyngling held a wide smile on his face. Their eyes gleamed as they stared at the unchanging scene before them. "My name is Ren, but Alma calls me Renny, so I guess you could call me that too. What's your name?"

A thought flashed through Fission's mind, does he really have to give him his real name? He did just admit to being around Alma enough for her to give him a nickname. Fission pondered this for a moment, but in the end, he willed the thought away. There was no reason to lie to Ren. Even if Ren is one of Alma's lackeys, it's not like Alma doesn't already know what his name is. "Fission, my name is Fission."

"Fission... What a cool name! I wish I had a name like that.." Ren slumped down, letting his arms hang outside of the Nook. "What is it you do?"

Fission pondered this for a moment... Should he really get to know this wyngling? After all, this will probably be the only and last time he'll ever see him again. Eh, what harm could be done? "I like to tinker"

"Tink..ker? What's that mean?" Ren was facing him now, those doe eyes were wide with interest. Fission didn't understand him. Did he not know what tinker meant? Wasn't that last week's vocabulary word with Ms. Alice? How did he not know it?

"Tinker means to... meddle with something in order to make it better.." Fission could see Ren process the information in his head. When he finally registered it, he smiled (for the millionth time).

"Really? That's interesting! I like to make flower crowns.. well, I like anything with flowers!" Ren's smile was infectious. Fission's lips curled up slightly and he chuckled quietly to himself. Of course he likes flowers, the flower crown gave it away.

Everything was quiet again. It was comfortable. Well, for a short while. Slowly one by one the room was invaded by wynglings. It seemed that Alma had finished her story. The area was alive with mindless chatter about trivial things. No one seemed to pay attention to Fission and Ren as they climbed down from the chair.

"There you two are! Where were you during my story?" Alma had apparently marched in with the hoard of wyngro. She seemed peeved but not upset. "You know it's rude to leave in the middle of a story! Why did you two run off?"

Fission glanced back at Ren who was hanging his head down. He looked guilty. "I'm sorry Alma, we were just looking at trees."
