Description   Ren wasn't his friend. He was the nuisance who stopped him from escaping. The one who foiled his plans. Fission didn't care if he got hurt. Getting hurt as a part of life. So why was Fission finding himself looking for the wyngling? Ren was just an acquaintance. A passerby in his life. And yet, when Fission found himself with nothing to do, he'd look for Ren. He's forced himself to stop the search on several occasions after reminding himself that he wasn't a friend.

He watched as the number of Wyngro in the nook slowly dwindled as young and old alike were taken to quarantine. In his free time, he wondered whether or not to try again, to leave without anyone noticing. He'd tried a couple of times but would get interrupted by nosy Gro. He'd given up after the second attempt and settled for staying in the nook. The Nook was boring. The atmosphere was grim as the Wyngro who left never came back and the reports of death came in. Wyngro hid in their rooms in fear. Fission could leave if he wanted to, but he was being foolish. He never thought death would be lurking with the sickness. He thought it was just a few bad cases of runny glands, but that wouldn't explain the wynglings leaving as well. Dying wasn't worth experiencing the plague.

Fission wandered the near-empty hallways of the nook, once again finding himself looking for Ren. He wandered for what felt like hours, walking into barely occupied rooms filled with hushed whispers. He ended his search when he reached the room he and Ren had met in. It was empty. Fission closed the door behind him and clambered onto the faded red accent chair. Sighing as he settled down into the chair, he closed his eyes rested.

The light flicked on and Fission cringed. The light burned his eyes. He blinked rapidly till they adjusted. Alma was standing in the doorway, surveying the room. When her eyes settled on Fission she sighed. "Alright, time to go the bed. It's late"

How long had he slept? When he entered the room it was midday. Fission turned and glanced out the window. Sure enough, it was dark outside. Fission rubbed the sleep from his eyes and sat up. Yawning as he jumped off the chair. Fission trudged his way back to his bed with Alma following close behind. The light from the hallway stinging his eyes as each step woke him up more. He flopped into his bed and wrapped himself under the covers. Alma bid goodnight and shut the door bathing the room in darkness. He shut his eyes hoping to fall into the warm embrace of dream, but sleep evaded him. He just wasn't tired anymore.

Fission picked his head up and stared out the window in his room. He saw the faint outline of the trees, the world was black as ink in the night of the new moon. Not wanting to stay in bed, Fission quietly hopped out of bed while trying to avoid waking his sleeping roommates. He walked silently to the window sill and stared out the window. Fission watched as the outlined trees danced and swayed in the blowing wind. It brought him back to the day he met Ren. It had only been a few days, but it felt like months.

It was starting to become obvious to Fission that Ren wasn't in the nook. His searches for the green wyngling were often, yet never once did he see him again. As much as he hated it, he was starting to worry. He'd only talked to him once, seen him once, yet everything about him was infectious. From his bouncy movements to his chipper attitude, Fission had found himself in a better mood whenever he thought about him. Ren was much needed in these trying times. But no matter how far he looked, Ren was gone. Fission didn't want to come to this conclusion but he didn't know how else to explain Ren's disappearance. Ren got sick. Ren was in quarantine.

Poor Ren, and its nice to see Fission caring for him despite the fact Ren is presumably an entity Fission is not supposed to associate himself with.
