This truly is quite beautiful and symbolical in both a poetic and philosophical way.
The diffused natural lighting you captured, infused all colors with that fresh and gloomy hue of deep forest thus setting this into an almost mythical kind of visionary place.
The snail's shell, not only an eye candy detail, but a metaphor for the spyral of life, a fragile cacoon, yet made out of precious sedeph.
The execution is truly masterfull, and hence I feel as if it is unfair to ask for even more from the composition and the crop, but I too feel as if this is an excellent A+ text book example, while it lacks that eccentric artistic edge.
Non-the-less, it is a rare pleasure and joy to see a macro full of meaning such as this one, and a quality one at that. Few people on DA have the facilities to achieve such shallow depth of field with their equippment, so it is a pleasure to see you treat us with that effect.
...out of curiosity...how large was the aperture

technically wisely done.. well not really.. if i have to critic something, then i would have to tell you that i prefered a different angle, so that the sharp area was on the snail AND the top of the leaf.. i think this could have make the shot more intresting.
beside that, very nice quality and quality. i like the "lost in the crowd of leafs" feeling that you get from this little snail !

The focus is incredible. I also like the composition, this is a well balanced and capturing shot. Great work (as always)!
