Description One of the things I'm submitting to the student art show. :]

Class: 2-D Design
Medium: Guache

I really suck at naming things...<.<"
And the colors are REALLY off in this one...I mean more so than usual... irl there's dark blue + light blue + teal + lilac + dark purple + light pink
What a shame. :/

Oh it sucks about the coulours, this really reminds me of water though . And it's interesting that it's in Goache, Iv'e just started using that for my art topic in school. Anyway, this is really pretty
Good luck for the show (sorry - probably late now )

Yeah, it's like looking at a totally different piece because of the color difference. lol
I love gauche, how are you liking it?
Thanks! Actually, they're judging everything tomorrow, so you have perfect timing.

oh well, im sure it just looks more lovely . Hmm, i actually don't know if I'm doing it right? Which sounds really bad, but I've just been on easter break and my teacher suggested and lent the Goache to me on like, the last day... so i informed it up it was meant to be the consistency of yoghurt, and.. yeah. Um so, it's been going fine. I think. I don't know maybe it too runny? But anyway, i think its really nice, like how smooth the colours turn out? even when i do mix them.. its just much smoother than acrylic but so much more than watercolour. I think I'm babbling, but basically i like them
Oh wow! Yay! I hope you did well then

Hmm, that sounds about right...though I water the hell out of it. lol
Have you tried mixing it with charcoal? Personally, that's the only time I use it...unless of course the teacher tells me to, then I have no choice...but on my own, I only use it with charcoal. :]

lol i think i do too
ahh sorry this is quite late.
hmm like, charcoal penciley things? i mean i have the sticks but i use them as pencils. that idea has never crossed my mind actually! wow
haha, id have to go out and buy some goache of my own cause i just returned the lot i had. My teacher seems to think i should use watered down acrylic for my final peice for art, so i don't know when i'll next use them . They pretty fun though, if not a lil scary

I use the vine charcoal and grind it up with a few drops of water...but I've tried using the sticks and then just going over it with a wet brush, it works both ways. It just depends on if you want it to look grainy or smooth.
I've never heard of watering down acrylic, not that I really use acrylic paints. lol
:]

ahh this is really late!
sorry! Iv been really busy of late and had was w/o my laptop for a while
that sounds really interesting though, ill try it sometime
tho atm, i want to stay as far away from doing art as possible! I just finished my ten hour art exam! (split into 2 days mind you) but omg im so RELIEVED i finished and im pretty sure it turned out okay so ahh. so happy .
Hm, yeah it's kinda odd, but thats pretty much what i did for my exam, im fairly sure you shouldnt, cause maybe it defies the point of them being acrylic paint? but gosh, its a lot easier to paint small objects i found, and clay objects too which was a godsend. its so thick otherwise!
ahh right iv probably babbled enough now, so ill just leave you now, i hope whatever your doing art wise it going well

10 hours?! I'm REALLY glad our exams aren't that long! lol I'd go insane.
I can imagine it being easier to use...but I would also think you would use acrylic medium to thin it out...ya know, instead of water. lol
Who knows?! If it works, it works. :]
As far as my art goes, I'm doing nothing right now b/c I'm scrambling to get an English paper done...that I'm currently neglecting. LOL

That sucks. With the exam on your birthday AND now french stuff. Pleh. I'm completely incapable of learning a second language. I've tried many times, and failed repeatedly. lol

I'm like...99.9% positive that acrylic medium exists, and that when I saw it, it was at wal-mart. lol I've never used it though. Somehow that doesn't sound like a very good way to make a relief paste...Hmm.

I got a B on my paper btw. :] Given that I didn't put much effort into it, I think that's awesome!
Good luck on your french speaking orals~

oh god, i feel that. i have my french speaking orals on tuesday and i know a total of 0 topic conversations.
luckily enough i followed a similar revision plan for my mock exam and managed to force it all into my brain 2 days before and just scrap an A. but i should probably start and prepare this weekend.. hence why im just about to go to bed, before ten pm. ahh.

lol oddly enough i never thought of using an acrylic medium? Guess cause art supplies are pretty hard to get here, not to mention expensive (but i spose they are expensive everywhere). Either way my teacher suggested thinning it with water, much like how she said i could make relief paste with PVA, glue, and flour at home. Which... kinda didn't really work (but that could be chalked up to my cooking skills, or lack of).

and ahh this is going on a bit, but that art exam - yeah on my birthday! . fortunately it was the first 5 hour day and not the second, where i was wee bit more stressed as i saw clock hands ticking away.got it done tho

anyway: good luck with your English paper !
