Description Khaild sighed and sealed the door behind him, careful that his whole, snake body was well inside beforehand. He'd had many bad experiences with doors slamming on his tail in the past, and he had the bruises to prove it.
The naga wore a grim expression and torn up clothes. After that last difficult drill, he was beginning to question just what he'd gotten himself into. He ripped off the remaining shreds of his uniform like paper and tossed them aside. If anyone else had been in the room, they would have grimaced at the sight of his bare back. It was covered in deep, vertical scars that ran down his spine. They were well healed over, but there were so many packed together, it was a complete eye-sore.
Khaild slithered over to his mirror and yanked out his hair tie. His long, strawberry blonde hair fell freely around his thin face. For a moment, he simply stared blankly back at his reflection. The Lactic Acid pulsed through his muscles and with every movement making them sore. His hazel eyes glared dully back in mutual disgust. This creature before him was completely the opposite of what he should've been, and it irked his mind. He waited before removing the final shred of Khaild Irshad's presence; his glasses.
At once, his murky hazel eyes flickered to a bright golden honey color and the slits of his eyes stretched thin. Anxiously he turned away and grabbed up one of his books from a nearby shelf.
Books were his only escape from everything. The pain, internal and out. The shame, the regret, the fear, the hate. When he read about World History and the science of the universe, his mind fell at ease and he became lost in curious thought.
So there lie a powerful, humble naga on the bed of his room, reading a biology book like a teenager would read Harry Potter. With time, his muscles relaxed and his body gradually shifted back down to the slim, gaunt looking man he was. At least for the time being.

Tess had just finished a nice, warm shower when she entered her room. A new, clean pair of sleepwear lay folded neatly on her bed. She dressed and walked over to her desk. It was an empty desk at the moment. No pictures, no books, not much of anything. Just some old plates, a few empty soda cans and a laptop. Her laptop was one of the only things the facility didn't monitor 24/7.
Sure, they'd hack into it sometimes just to check up, but this was as private as it got. She was mildly irritated by the constant surveillance, but it was better than where she used to live. And there was always the fact that she'd never experienced any real kind of personal freedom before. Being cooped up and used as a science experiment practically all your life can mess you up like that.
She brushed back some of her hair and turned on the mini computer. She had a couple documents she wrote on in her spare time, and even one she used as a diary. She's simply type up what happened that day and any new progress she made. There was no internet, except for downloading free music off iTunes because…well, the facility paid for it.
Music and typing took her mind off the day's worries. She was working on a new poem she'd come up with during the day when the speaker came on, announcing lights out. Nine O'clock at night was curfew for the monsters. Tess groaned and shut down the laptop after saving.
She went to bed with the same thoughts she had every night; what the hell am I doing here? Who am I really? Am I going to be a monster forever, or are they going to try and fix me?
Tess had little hope for herself and the future. She was always moody and talked in a melancholy tone, as if she were bored. She was restless, and it usually took her two hours to actually fall asleep. During that time, she tried to imagine life as a normal person, or debated on who she could trust. There was one question that kept popping up that she could never explain.
The one scientist named Hugh…he looked so familiar, but she couldn't remember where she'd seen him before. He never talked to her more than he needed to, but he was always sympathetic and spoke as if he understood everything she said and really cared for her. Her faith in men with white lab coats dwindled far down below average hate. It wasn't Hugh as a person, it was as a scientist she despised him. And all other men like the ones from her long, heartbreaking past.

Bruce scooped up the water and splashed it all over his face. After a hard day's work, it was usually covered in dirt, sweat, grease and sometimes even blood. More recently, anyways. He grabbed a nearby towel and dabbed his face dry. His grey-blue eyes seemed distant as he cleaned up and walked back to his dorm. He was thinking of home.
It was the closest thing he could call a home, and he was hundreds of miles away from it. Again.  His heart was heavy and sad, but after hearing what was soon going to happen, what other choice did he have? At least they had the decency to knock first and ask him, instead of trapping him or shooting him down like a freak animal.
The giant man pulled his shirt over his large, muscular torso and sat himself on the edge of the bed. He hunched over and rubbed his temple, hoping to relieve some of his headache from earlier.
Even though he was a good 20 feet tall or so, his room fit him like a glove. Everything was his size, as best the money from the facility could make. Bed, sheets, lamp, mirror, closet, ect. For that, he was also grateful. Yet he still longed to be back in his nice little garage in the deep of Florida, with his mother and younger sister safe in the house next to him.
He glanced over at the bedside table, where a few picture frames sat. They were all normal human sized, and pretty small in his huge, chunky paws. Bruce delicately reached over and picked a few up in his palm to examine them.
One was of Alice performing in a school play, another of Chrissy with one of his friends at the old folk home, and a third one was of he, Alice and his friend Emma lounging together in the backyard. He gazed at Emma for a bit in the photo, admiring her beautiful brown eyes that gazed shyly out from behind her glasses (he absolutely adored that) and how her short black hair perfectly framed her face. In the picture she was sitting pleasantly in Bruce's arm, blushing just about as madly as he was.
The lonely giant sighed and carefully placed them back where they belonged just as the announcement went for curfew. With a tear or two jerking at his eye, the enormous man slipped into bed and willed himself to sleep.

Zenon struggled to get the brush through her thick hair, tugging and pulling and yanking at it a couple times before finally giving up. "Me veo como un niño demonio! I look like a demon child!" she told her reflection in the mirror. Then she laughed and stood to get ready for bed.
Out of most of the monsters, Zenon was probably one of the more optimistic. She looked forward to exercises, and always kept the conversation going. Though when provoked, she had a quick temper and an even quicker mouth. She enjoyed the facility and being a part of something so large and secret. She'd only been on one mission with the team before, and was really looking forward to this next one.
However, she did miss her old friends and family from back home, and often cried to herself from homesickness. She was a monster now, and could never go back to stay, and it made her sad. She now had to look to the rest of her team to be her new family.
She flopped down on the bed and stared at the ceiling in deep thought. Tomorrow, Monger had announced that they would meet their new trainer, who would help prepare them for the special mission that was going to take place. No one knew for sure when it was going to happen, but rumors were flying around like crazy about another alien invasion. It just filled her with excitement and nervousness all at once! She fell asleep from fatigue before the announcement for curfew even came on, dreaming about saving the world and kicking major alien butt.
