Very nice work. One of my favorite cars is the Porsche Carrera GT which is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. This car also inspired me for a painting in Adobe Illustrator (2-D, using no mesh/no grid for gradients) from another interesting angle. See here: exotic-legends.deviantart.com/…
Also see the detail-links in the attachment of the picture-description.

Nice work! That thing is sweet. Ai is lots of fun and really gives you a lot of freedom I think.

it was in an issue of popular hot rodding. I'm not sure you'll find a high rez version though.

I think easy is a matter of perspective. This could be done with Photoshop and this image is simply vector shapes created overtop of a photograph. These are among many old drawings I did (long before I joined dA) to learn ... they are what you might call a "study". The point in this drawing was to capture more realism and I think that is why a lot of people like this drawing. It is my most faved drawing. I went to school to learn Illustrator and this is what happened when I applied it to cars. I learned and practiced the techniques and skill by doing these kinds of drawings. Later, when I joined dA and many other communities I found that lots of people drew cars with Illustrator and Ps and I started experimenting with other methods which has resulted in the new stuff you see in my gallery. I guess I'm saying that you need to learn the "how" and then you can create what you want. Just do a search for tutorials here on dA and all over the net and you can learn the how. Lots of people are self taught. There are also lots of excellent books that will walk you through Ai and Ps that you can get dirt cheap online. Then you study your subject, then you create. Those two can be mixed up. But really if you don't know how to use the tools, you will get frustrated. Luckily there are LOTS of great self taught artists out there and LOTS of resources if you're willing to dig for them. There are lots of ways to do things and lots of ways to learn. If you already have Ps and I know you already know how to use some of it, then just stick with it.

i totally understand what you mean i have learnt Ps from my time at college and since i have been out of college i have been learning new things every week i do have a simple understanding of creating a toon i have looked at a couple of car related tutorials for that but on photoshop.i have also recently spoke to someone on here i met that does 3d/4d work and i am looking into that also i just want ways so expend my creativity.i even bought myself a nice camera to start photography thats on another account.

I design custom cars, or at least that's my ultimate goal. This drawing, and many of my other old drawings, are of cars that already exist so that I could practice my Illustrator skills. Up to this point I have been drawing the cars the way my clients want them to be. I've only been given a little freedom to design parts myself.
