I'm not totally happy with the toes. It kind of was faster/easier? maybe? than making clay ones I guess i loose interest in the feet and end up just munting the face at that point but they really don't look as nice up close... not mine anyway

I did cut out wee claw/nails and stick them on the end but I kept feeling like they were too white and possibly needed some fabric paint or something if i had more time.

also I was slack on the eyes ... they were golden and at the last min I decided I hated them and slapped on the silver paint - slacker! shame as I do paint pretty eyes most of the time.

over all still totally cute! - I think its the little tilted face that makes me melt every time

Maybe little clay claws on the tips would have livened it up, I had to do a lot of experimenting with tip claws for my bat wings, I leave a loop in the wire and then weave tin foil through several times and back it down tight with sculpey firm (I've taken to firm everywhere clay and wire meet now) it seems to work pretty well, if you make any more and think that might be helpful ^_^ He is totally cute though! Did you consider pink eyes or big yuck?

I did very briefly think pink eyes... but then the white kiwi isn't a true albino, you can see photos of them have black eyes.
I didn't really want to go with black as A) boring B)the eyes were made in a pop-out bead style rather than inset so he would look a bit bug eyed lol

glad you like him. he is pretty irresistible

oh wow look at that I googled it! It's weird in the article they mention the male have the rare recessive white gene, that would mean it's luechism but that's normally blue eyes like white tigers.. I wonder why theirs go black!

Oh that's great make sure you take pictures! My zoo had a white gator, living in florida there is a pretty big skin market so lots of farms for them that sell the whites off to animal menageries. I should post a photo of Mardi the gator sometime
