Description Recently the community has been all about celebration, with birthdays left right and centre. And now it's to step into the spotlight, and to mark this occasion I had to submit this.

45407 "Lancashire Fusilier" is an ex-LMS Stanier Class 5MT 4.6.0, currently owned and operated by Matts boss Ian Riley of Riley Engineering based at Bury. Matt has had the pleasure of working with this little beauty on many a railtour and many a day in the works at Buckley Wells, which involves crawling around inside a tender and firing the locomotive on the mainline. Here she is seen as she simmers in Manchester Victoria station, after her arrival from the Tin Bath Extra railtour, of which I was part of along with ~irwingcommand , my dad and my uncle. It's clear to see that despite many a depressing day inside a tender frame cleaning and polishing, 45407 is grateful for Matts assistance in keeping her mainline.

Happy Birthday Matt!

No problem. Maybe I'll et something like this of her legendary sister on the 30th. And as I seem to recall you were out of the window of the support coach watching me take all these as well.

I would have loved to see this photo from the point of the locomotives. However, I'm a sucker for the effect steam gives in time exposed night photos. Imagining the sound that is coming from this beast on what looks like a cold night is enough for me!

Beautiful image, imagine this in black and white and it could be back in the 60's for sure. Love it, well done on a super image.
David.

Gorgeous shot! Perfect still capture, and that nice underlit swirling effect you get with night steam photographs. Stunning
